[19:52:45] <dingo^> i did seperate out the -D of __zaurus__
[19:52:50] <dingo^> to be specific as to qtopia linux zaurus
[19:52:53] <dingo^> or just plain arm architecture
[19:52:56] <dingo^> in the parts that mattered
[19:53:14] <dingo^> for instance, the screen doubling or whatever you call it works just fine on my zaurus
[19:53:22] <dingo^> but the //comment says it caused the guy's zaurus to crash
[19:53:48] <dingo^> but -1.2 crashes alot, and doesnt get past the main menu screen when compiled with -O1 or greater

[19:54:26] <dingo^> it could be a gcc on arm bug for all i know
[19:54:42] <dingo^> but openbsd ports have to compile and run on a large majority of their architectures
[19:54:50] <dingo^> arm is one of the simpler ones
[19:55:07] <dingo^> so i'll just happily play with cvs snapshot on my own zaurus until i see a next exult release
[19:55:54] <dingo^> i'll also submit to the mailing list a patch that does the hibby jibby of seperating __zaurus__ and __arm__ and also better checks on host_os openbsd and so forth in configure.ac

[19:56:13] <dingo^> so i gotta re-do all that again where it matters i guess
[19:56:26] <dingo^> planned on making a patch to add onto the 1.2 release, but I am having a most difficult time making it stable

[19:57:11] <dingo^> it can't work on a moving cvs snapshot, theres md5's and stuff involved
[19:57:45] <dingo^> so usualy what you do is make a patch that makes it work well under openbsd and include it with the port in the patches/ directory
[19:57:57] <dingo^> and it gets applied before it compiles
[19:58:23] <dingo^> then send the patch upstream
[19:58:27] <dingo^> but i see 1.2 is very old
[19:58:34] <dingo^> so upstream doesnt care for it, i take it

[19:59:11] <wjp> we've already changed quite a bit related to portability and such after 1.2
[19:59:44] <dingo^> i read in interviews and stuff when exult was pretty popular after the 1.2 release, that you guys are moving away from ultima 7
[19:59:44] <wjp> I think the entire Zaurus port started after 1.2, as well as 64 bit support, gcc 4 patches, and probably some other things I'm forgetting
