[00:08:47] --> wizardrydragon has joined #exult
[00:50:39] --- LordNAway is now known as Lord_Nightmare
[00:58:33] --> Marzo has joined #exult
[01:06:32] <dingo^> damn key for hoe of destruction
[01:06:40] <dingo^> is it around that garbage-ridden lake?
[01:06:47] <dingo^> is that the one that goofball is talking about?
[01:06:47] <Marzo> There are two
[01:06:51] --> Colourless has joined #Exult
[01:06:51] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Colourless
[01:07:04] <dingo^> two?
[01:07:04] <Marzo> But yes, that is the one Mack is talking about
[01:07:07] <Marzo> Yes
[01:07:12] <dingo^> is the other one easier? :)
[01:07:18] <dingo^> you remember which corner of the lake?
[01:07:21] <Marzo> You know the chest south of Trinsic?
[01:07:35] <dingo^> yea i remember it from years ago
[01:07:39] <dingo^> but i cant seem to find it atm
[01:07:43] <dingo^> only looked for a few minutes
[01:07:53] <dingo^> i thought it stood out more
[01:07:53] <Marzo> It has a key which also opens the shed for the Hoe of Destruction
[01:08:08] <dingo^> hmm garbage or forest :)
[01:08:48] <Marzo> The Trinsic chest is at 0x381, 0x972
[01:08:58] <dingo^> geepers
[01:09:09] <dingo^> how do you get the exact hexidecimal address without using the cheat menu?
[01:09:20] <Marzo> The key is under a rock at 0x393, 0x982
[01:09:28] <Marzo> The closest is the sextant
[01:09:28] <dingo^> i cant fix my damn key bindings
[01:09:35] <dingo^> so i can't even press "f2", using a zaurus
[01:09:50] <dingo^> (or run, for that matter >_<)
[01:09:56] <dingo^> (i guess my "shift" key is different?)
[01:10:18] <dingo^> but then i figured
[01:10:21] <Marzo> You know the moongate south of Trinsic?
[01:10:24] <dingo^> the game runs at like 2fps anyway
[01:10:27] <dingo^> sure i know that
[01:10:37] <dingo^> its in the same clearing?
[01:11:01] <Marzo> From the moongate, cross the forest going exactly west
[01:11:26] <dingo^> oh damn i wasn't even close, thanks Marzo
[01:11:27] <Marzo> If you are in the same y coordinate as the moongate, you will exit two tiles above the rock with the key
[01:12:02] <Marzo> Which gives me something to fix in Exult, as standing near the rock makes the key pop to the top
[01:12:41] <dingo^> its not in the cheast?
[01:12:45] <dingo^> chest rather
[01:12:47] <Marzo> From the key, go northwest until you see a lone tree with yellow leaves
[01:13:00] <Marzo> The key opens the chest
[01:13:06] <dingo^> ah
[01:13:17] <Marzo> (you don't have to hack it open like most walkthroughs tell you to)
[01:13:28] <Marzo> This key also opens the shed to the Hoe of Destruction
[01:13:50] <Marzo> I suppose that this was an oversight from the devs
[01:14:01] <Marzo> (the original devs, of course)
[01:14:25] <Marzo> The chest is under said lone tree
[01:14:40] <Marzo> Hiding under its northwestern branches
[01:16:24] --> Matt_O has joined #exult
[01:18:03] <Marzo> But hey -- you got Exult running on the Zaurus?
[01:18:14] <Marzo> Last I heard, it worked only in Zaurus emulators
[01:18:27] <dingo^> on openbsd/arm, yes
[01:18:59] <dingo^> it took about 10 lines or so, and unfortantly cannot get 1.2 to work
[01:19:18] <dingo^> i split the -D__zaurus__ into also __zaurus__ and __arm__
[01:19:31] <dingo^> as some things ifdef'd out for linux qtopia zaurus did not apply to openbsd
[01:19:38] <dingo^> like doubling the screen size
[01:19:45] <dingo^> and freetype font
[01:20:21] <dingo^> i'll post a patch to the current cvs to the mailing list when i feel its correct
[01:20:33] <dingo^> so that hopefuly the next exult release will work out-of-the-box on openbsd and openbsd/arm
[01:20:52] <Marzo> Post it to the patch tracker instead: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=2335&atid=302335
[01:21:07] <Marzo> (although posting a notification in the list never hurts)
[01:21:15] <dingo^> yech. i'm on a text terminal -- can I find this from the website?
[01:22:05] <Marzo> In the Exult page, go to 'Links', choose 'Project Page' and 'Patches'
[01:22:22] <Marzo> So yes, you can :-)
[01:22:44] <dingo^> cool, thanks
[01:22:47] <dingo^> will do
[01:22:55] <dingo^> have a busy work week, was out with a cold yesterday and part of today
[01:23:11] <dingo^> barely catching up on my inbox now, much less the workload it entails ;/
[01:26:24] <Marzo> I know the feeling; I've been sort of out of commission recently too
[01:42:52] <dingo^> ow wow
[01:42:56] <dingo^> theo de raadt bangs it again
[01:43:03] <dingo^> redhat signed an NDA with marvell
[01:43:10] <dingo^> over the "one laptop per child" thing
[01:43:18] <dingo^> of the wireless binary drivers
[01:43:28] <dingo^> firmware, rather, so redhat could write linux kernel drivers for it
[01:43:39] <dingo^> theo just wants the rights to redistribute the firmware freely in openbsd
[01:44:12] <dingo^> and is arguing that by redhat signing away freedoms, they are making it difficult for a truely open and truely free software group to get redistribution rights to the firmware binaries
[01:44:24] <dingo^> so that you don't have to jump through hoops every time you want your damn wifi card to work
[01:44:39] <dingo^> well the redhat guy again misrepresented the situation on an online news interview
[01:44:53] <dingo^> so theo released the entire private mail discussion to the public

[21:44:17] <servus> Ugh, our HTML guy used <div onclick="window.location=..."> instead of <a> links everywhere... Kill me now!
[21:56:00] <wjp> how peculiar
[21:56:18] <wjp> regular expressions to the rescue? :-)
[21:58:18] * Sevalecan begins killing servus
[21:58:20] <Sevalecan> ;)
[21:58:42] <Sevalecan> regular expressions would be nice for search and replace, but i cant get libpcre to tell me WHERE the match occured :(

[22:31:09] --> Darke has joined #exult
[22:52:53] <servus> speaking of... x dead again grr i hate it... xorg must die...

[22:53:33] <wizardrydragon> "An air of hatred doth surround thee"
[22:55:00] --> servus has joined #exult
[22:55:28] <servus> I firmly believe that XOrg is inferior to Windows 3.0.
[22:55:46] <servus> Vastly inferior to XFree86, for that matter. I never had *this* many problems with XF86.
[22:57:13] <wizardrydragon> Ive never had a problem period with XF86 :)
[22:58:08] <Sevalecan> servus: i never had a problem with Xorg D:
[23:06:29] <servus> I have severe problems with both the mouse and keyboard just randomly shutting off or doing other random annoying things that require a restart of X. It might have something to do with the fact that I'm using the handicap (keyboard-operated) mouse.
[23:06:47] <Sevalecan> l:o
[23:07:01] <servus> It usually happens after a few hours of use...
