[12:29:32] <wjp> no idea...
[12:29:39] <Fl00der> same here
[12:30:34] <Fl00der> I wonder if I could rip musics from U9, I don't think they were in mp3/ogg format...

[21:13:21] <wjp> hm, you're close :-)
[21:13:23] <wjp> ?seen nadir
[21:13:23] <exultbot> nadir left IRC around Mon Sep 22 16:08:13 2003 (GMT) ("Client exiting")
[21:14:30] <wjp> he's not here often; if you want to talk to him about exult things, you could try the exult mailing list
[21:15:22] <LordN_BroPC> ya i should subscribe to that. I'm trying to figure out a couple of things about the data hidden in the BG executable.
[21:15:40] <wjp> such as?
[21:16:07] <LordN_BroPC> well, the mt32 note table for sfx
[21:16:19] <LordN_BroPC> and the guardian's lipsync frame data
[21:16:57] <LordN_BroPC> theres likely some other data in there that exult has already implemented in other ways, but those two bits of data need extraction
[21:17:48] <LordN_BroPC> well, the note table doesn't (that will likely be reimplemented externally), but the lipsync data does
[21:18:07] <wjp> hm, I thought the lipsync data was located in one of the data files?
[21:18:25] <LordN_BroPC> it is?
[21:18:58] <LordN_BroPC> colourless told me nadir said it was in the executable, (unless i misinterpreted what he said, which is quite possible)
[21:19:23] <wjp> I could be misremembering, of course
[21:20:21] <LordN_BroPC> right now exult randomly generates the lip data, so it resembles the god-awful snes 'version' (if it can even be called that) of BG
[21:21:58] <LordN_BroPC> there are basically 3 things that prevent me from thinking exult is 'complete': 1. the mt-32 sfx don't work with a real mt-32 (because of that missing table); 2. the guardian's lipsync isn't done right; 3. the zoom effect on the portal at the end of the BG intro isn't implemented.
[21:23:57] <wjp> let's see
[21:24:08] <wjp> it could be object 15 in mainshp.flx
[21:26:20] <wjp> Nadir apparently figured that out somewhere in february 2003
[21:32:52] <wjp> looking at that file, it appears to be made up of 3 byte blocks
[21:33:13] <wjp> the first two bytes are increasing over the blocks, which could make it a timestamp
[21:33:31] <wjp> that might make the last byte a frame (or maybe something more abstract) to play at that time
[21:36:21] <wjp> don't have the time right now to try to fully decode it
[21:36:34] <wjp> but that's what I'd guess at first glance...
[21:54:41] <wjp> I should be going; if you manage to figure anything out about the lipsync data, let us know
[22:05:39] <Sevalecan> activity!
