[01:08:00] --> Kirben has joined #exult
[01:08:00] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Kirben
[01:11:48] --- Darke|zzZ is now known as Darke
[04:12:21] --> thetamind has joined #exult
[04:35:14] <thetamind> if anyone reads this: make install with the latest cvs source is broken, it tries to install the studio into estudio/new/estudio/new instead of estudio/new. I'm not very good at Makefiles, so I'm not sure where to fix this. Any help?
[04:49:03] --> Colourless has joined #Exult
[04:49:03] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Colourless
[04:49:27] * Colourless has returned
[04:50:45] * Darke bows to the all powerful Colourless.
[04:51:16] <Colourless> :-)
[04:51:21] <Darke> thetamind: I'm afraid I can't help you either, I'm not really familiar with most of exult's make structure.
[04:54:20] <Colourless> getting 9 days of emails at once is always fun :-)
[04:55:35] * Darke ouches.
[04:56:26] <Colourless> wasn't too bad. only 121
[05:02:16] <thetamind> ok thanks anyway, i just made the estudio/new/estudio/new myself and copied the files back where they sould be, in estudio/new
[06:23:53] <-- Colourless has left IRC ("bbl")
[08:35:20] <-- thetamind has left IRC ("leaving")
[09:14:46] --> Colourless has joined #Exult
[09:14:46] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Colourless
[09:18:24] <Darke> Welcome back. *gtin*
[09:18:55] <Colourless> something funny, bunny? ;-)
[09:19:40] * Darke looks innocent. Nothing's funny. Nope, not at all. Nothing funny to see here, move along.
[09:24:27] <-- Colourless has left IRC (Read error: 104 (Connection reset by peer))
[09:24:28] --> Cless has joined #Exult
[09:24:52] --- Cless is now known as Colourless
[09:24:54] * Darke giggles as he watches the dragon bounce. Now _that_ is funny!
[09:25:02] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Colourless
[09:25:11] <Colourless> i caused that myself too :-)
[09:25:37] <Colourless> trying to diagnose some network problems
[09:25:46] * Darke ahhs.
[09:27:22] * Darke makes a mental note not to let dragons admin his network connection. They appear to be too quick to anger and attempt to kill it.
[09:28:30] * Colourless wonders what Darke will say if the dragon mentions something about wanting to throw out all the old cards and buy new ones...
[09:29:35] <Colourless> my current setup is less than ideal to say the least. they are all 10 MBPS cards and one of them (the one that is normally in my machine) has a dry joint on it and is rather unreliable
[09:30:34] <Colourless> i just want to replace it all with new 100 MBPS equipment
[09:31:10] <Colourless> i would go for Gigabit you know, but I don't think i want to be paying out 'that' much money and laying fibre around my house :-)
[09:31:11] * Darke notes that you don't argue with obviously angry dragons and so decides to agree.
[09:32:00] <Darke> Gigabit over copper is apparently quite good, a friend and I were considering installing it in a previous apartment we shared, since we had the specced cabling already installed, we just needed the nics and hub. *grin*
[09:33:01] <Colourless> :-)
[09:35:23] <Colourless> i honestly think that gigabit just might be a little bit of overkill for home use you know, but you could really impress all your geeky friends though :-)
[09:37:08] <Colourless> i'm still getting major problems accessing the exult website. just keeps returning 404
[09:37:58] <Darke> Not really. IIRC we sat down and calculated that a gigabit link would quite easily take the bandwidth of our ATA66 hdds we had at the time, so in theory you could have a dedicated gigabit link to an external server and store stuff on that, without a perceptable slow down on 'copying'. You'd take a seek hit, but data tranferrance slowdown would be minimal. *griN*
[09:38:31] <Darke> It's going up and down and up and down. I suggest testing against a more relyable server. *grin*
[09:38:47] <Colourless> everything seems fine with other servers
[09:39:04] * Darke got it loading the first time he tried, then it got two 404s, now it's not even responding. Something's got to be up with sf.net.
[09:39:07] <Colourless> i'm just attempting to catch up with all the forum posts
[09:41:11] <Colourless> anyway, i've got to be off again. bbll (be back later later) :-)
