[09:37:25] <Kirben> c:\mingw\bin\make.exe: *** [pngio.o] Error 1
[09:43:52] * Darke finally gets some relevant errors out of his copy. <grin>
[09:46:23] <Darke> Ok, on shapes/pngio.cc:112 you'll see something like: png_get_oFFs(png, info, &pngxoff, &pngyoff, &utype) You need to drop in some casts and change it to something like this: png_get_oFFs(png, info, (png_int_32 *)(&pngxoff), (png_int_32 *)(&pngyoff), &utype)
[09:49:04] <Kirben> What are casts ?
[09:50:07] <Darke> These bits: (png_int_32 *) It's telling the compiler to treat one 'type' as another. In this case a png_uint_32 as a png_int_32. Which I'm pretty sure is a valid conversion. <grin>
[09:54:26] <Kirben> that worked, would it be safe to commit that change ?
[09:55:16] <Darke> It should be.
[09:55:54] <sb-x> What is the PNG stuff going to be for?
[09:57:42] <Kirben> image flex's
[10:01:15] <sb-x> What does that mean? Flex's with images in them?
[10:02:35] <Kirben> yes
[10:04:20] <sb-x> What will the image flex's be for? Are they just an alternative to shps?
[10:08:26] <Kirben> editor I guess
[10:08:55] <sb-x> Ok.. thanks.
[10:09:12] <sb-x> It's 4:10 here now, I should get to sleep.
[10:09:14] * sb-x waves.
[10:09:18] <-- sb-x has left IRC ("X-Chat [1.6.4]")
[11:35:34] --> Wumpus has joined #exult
[11:37:43] <Darke> Hello.
[11:38:52] * Wumpus waves to darke
[11:38:57] <Wumpus> is ucxt happy at the moment?
[11:39:06] <Wumpus> happy == working :P
[11:40:16] <Darke> It should be. What's the errors you're getting?
[11:40:26] <Wumpus> segfault :P
[11:40:30] * Wumpus probably is not installing the right fauls
[11:40:33] <Wumpus> files, even
[11:41:32] <Wumpus> ya, looks like thats...
[11:41:36] <Wumpus> not the problem :-)
[11:42:06] <Wumpus> actually, hmm, if i run it from the compiled source tree, will it find the data files in the source tree?
[11:42:26] <Wumpus> or does it only look in /.../share/exult ?
[11:44:08] <Darke> It'll normally look in the exult/data directory in the source tree, and where you've installed it. There's an override to add to the .exult.cfg file to point it to ucxt's data directories. But just a sec and I'll find the list of files it needs.
[11:44:50] <Wumpus> its getting part way through extracting something, and then yawns and dies :|
[11:45:18] * Darke earperks and lightbulbs. He thinks he knows what the problem is.
[11:45:36] <Wumpus> (its a few days old now, hmm)
[11:46:56] <Darke> Goto the exult/usecode/ucxt directory and `make head2data.test` then try and run it again from there.
[11:47:58] <Wumpus> ahh, now it works...
[11:48:17] <Wumpus> so something is borked with the compile scripts? or something is borked with my stuff?
[11:49:42] <Darke> Something is broken with Makefile.am, I 'fixed' it with my local copy, but I must have forgotten to commit it when we were messing around with rechecking things out relating to the COMMON module a while back.
[11:51:13] * Darke digs up his automake manual.
[12:02:34] * Darke fixes and commits.
[12:06:14] <Wumpus> sweet :-) thanks
[12:06:20] * Wumpus summons the update gods

[12:06:55] <m0t0ro> hi
[12:06:59] --- m0t0ro is now known as Darkatom
[12:08:25] <Darke> Hi
[12:08:26] <Wumpus> have conf/audio conf/headers and conf/files been disposed of?
[12:09:20] * Darke didn't know any of those three directories existed.
[12:09:53] <Wumpus> oh :) hmm, i have them :/ and cvs gets upset because they apparently don't exist in the repository
[12:10:31] <Darke> Yes, there's probably a reason for that. <grin> They don't.
[12:13:17] * Wumpus will recompile tomorrow or something :P

[13:35:52] * Darke thinks he has had one crash to date in the 6 months or so he's used mozzila. He doesn't use it much though, so that's probably the 'problem'. *grin*

[22:07:40] <wjp> the tools dir now also depends on the shapes and imagewin dirs
[22:08:00] <wjp> (meaning the latter two have to be built after the tools dir)
[22:08:22] <sty> aah.. you're talkin about the current cvs... :)
[22:08:28] <wjp> yeah, of course :-)
[22:08:41] <sty> twas a misunderstanding
[22:09:04] <sty> i was wondering about svgalib causing cyclic dependencies, ahahah :)

[23:18:13] <Kefka> i used to play on Origin servers
[23:18:48] <sb-x> Why not now?
[23:18:49] <Kefka> but go sick of the people like N3wB1EK1LLa
[23:19:14] <Kefka> so i play only on UOX servers
[23:19:30] <Kefka> its free plus there isn't any lamers around

[23:20:01] <Kefka> sort of free..
[23:20:07] <sb-x> :S
[23:20:13] <Kefka> you have to own Ultima Online CD to be able to play it
[23:20:39] <Kefka> you install the game, update the client from Origin
[23:20:54] <Kefka> then edit a config file and point the log in server to a UOX server
[23:20:59] <sb-x> oh :<
[23:21:22] <Kefka> its simple.. but you have to own Ultima Online
[23:21:40] <Kefka> which is extremely cheap nowadays
[23:21:53] <sb-x> is there a linux client?
[23:22:20] <Kefka> not that i know of.. i think some people were working on one though.. not sure if its still in active development

[23:23:13] <sty> is ultra-fast

[23:26:35] <sty> yep
[23:27:26] <sb-x> what screen mode you used?
[23:27:36] <sty> i can use 320x200 x256 !
[23:27:38] <sb-x> for the classic feel i use 320x200 unscaled
[23:27:38] <sty> as the original
[23:27:45] <sb-x> but
[23:27:52] <sb-x> if we could leave gumps open on the edges
[23:27:55] <sb-x> i would use a larger res
[23:28:09] <sb-x> and have the inventories opened all the time
[23:28:33] <Kefka> where the hell is it???
[23:28:33] <sty> i don't feel the same
[23:28:35] <sty> :)
[23:28:45] <sb-x> why not?
[23:29:01] <sty> i like big screen gameplay
[23:29:14] <sty> more immersive
[23:29:26] <sty> i don't care about the big pixels
[23:29:37] <sty> i care about the visual impact
[23:29:52] <sty> that's why i HATE play games in windowed mode
[23:29:52] <sb-x> i agree, but i think it would be convenient to always have inventory avaiable
[23:29:54] <sb-x> available
[23:30:29] <sb-x> its not necessary though, i just think it might be helpful :)
[23:30:33] <sty> ie: 3dshooters in windowed mode are NO NO fun :)
[23:30:58] <sb-x> i reboot into windows to play q2 :\
[23:33:22] <Kefka> i have found both copies of the Ultima Collection that were missing.. but no UO...
[23:34:01] <sb-x> hmm

[23:37:26] <Kefka> if i was an ultima online cd, where would i hide
[23:37:30] <Kefka> hmm....
[23:38:43] <sty> Kefka: i've never found UO warez anywhere
[23:41:31] <Kefka> sty: er.. well, i bought a copy of it
[23:41:50] <Kefka> then another copy came with my replacement Ultima 9 install disc
[23:42:04] <Kefka> i don't want to warez it.. i buy all my software or use open source solutions
[23:42:39] <sty> Kefka: but , is there a demo version or something ?
[23:42:57] <Kefka> sty: not that i know of.. its only like $15
[23:43:06] <Kefka> you might as well buy it..
[23:43:19] <Kefka> if you don't like it, oh well..
[23:43:28] <Kefka> won't break the bank..
[23:43:33] <sty> :D
[23:44:15] <sty> i know worse ways to spend money :)
[23:44:25] <Kefka> i should buy another copy of it so that i don't have to wait while the client goes through 50 or 60 updates
[23:44:56] <Kefka> hmm.. found my two copies of Duke Nukem Atomic Edition
[23:45:03] <sty> wow :)
[23:46:58] <sb-x> i have a Duke Nukem: Duke It Out in D.C. add on
[23:46:59] <sb-x> heh

[23:49:29] <Kefka> 1000 free hours of AOL
[23:49:32] <Kefka> er..

[23:51:29] * sty speaks to Thoxa in Oink mode :)
[23:52:45] * sb-x boggles at Slackware's placement of Timidity's data dir at /opt/kde/share/apps/kmidi/config.
[23:52:53] <sty> :)
