[04:54:04] <-- toad`sMok has left IRC (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[05:09:59] --> toad`sMok has joined #exult
[06:23:02] --> Kirben has joined #exult
[06:23:02] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Kirben
[06:40:26] <-- toad`sMok has left IRC (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[07:10:33] --> toad`sMok has joined #exult
[08:58:00] --> Dominus has joined #exult
[08:58:28] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Dominus
[08:58:36] <Dominus> hey ho
[08:58:40] <Dominus> Kirben: how is it going with gcc 3.2?
[08:59:06] * Darke bows. Hi!
[08:59:15] <Dominus> hi
[08:59:29] <Dominus> awfully quiet in the last few days
[08:59:43] <Kirben> Still no news, Colourless needs to look into it. Stick with gcc 3.1 for now.
[08:59:55] <Dominus> yeah, will do
[09:00:20] <Dominus> It just itched in my fingers when I got the release message from sf...
[09:00:22] <Dominus> :-)
[09:17:46] <Dominus> kirben: didn't you also report problems for scummvm and waveout/directsound some time ago?
[09:18:17] <Kirben> yes, scummvm uses same fix as exult now.
[09:18:39] <Dominus> was it also that just some people with the known chips had problems?
[09:19:03] <Dominus> and what was the "exact" cause or the result of that post to sdl_mixer?
[09:19:21] <Dominus> I'm asking because similar has come up with uwadv
[09:19:40] <Dominus> and I want to inform the authors more thoroughly
[09:21:33] <Kirben> Just wait for sdl 1.2.5 which will include the fix, which should be due out soonish.
[09:22:15] <Dominus> a real fix or workaround so dsound is usable as well?
[09:23:01] <Kirben> A real fix allowing directsound to be used by all.
[09:23:23] <Dominus> thanks for the info, good news
[09:23:33] <Kirben> I have an sdl 1.2.5 cvs dll if you want to try it.
[09:24:04] <Dominus> thanks but I actually don't need it (yet), maybe after I looked at all the changes :-)
[09:29:45] <Kirben> See http://www.libsdl.org/cvs.php
[09:30:18] * Dominus was about to :-)
[09:31:07] <Dominus> wow quite active the last couple of days
[09:31:37] <Kirben> Yes, sam requested info on any outstanding bugs recently.
[09:32:02] <Kirben> I just hope my version tab suggestion is added before 1.2.5.
[09:32:45] <Dominus> hm?
[09:33:03] <Dominus> so it gets added for self compiles?
[09:34:03] <Kirben> So a mingw compiled sdl includes version tab in sdl.dll
[09:34:21] <Dominus> ah, understood
[09:35:39] <Dominus> wel, I don't think I need the cvs version yet...
[09:37:34] <Dominus> Darke: ever heard of an italian U8?
[09:38:07] <Dominus> (latest discussion about all language versions of Ultima games) in the .series newsgroup
[09:40:13] <Dominus> and what languages of U8 have you uncoverd ?
[09:41:22] <Darke> Hmm... I don't remember an italian U8.
[09:41:37] <Darke> Just the Spanish on top of the French/German/English.
[09:41:49] <Dominus> ok
[10:06:36] <-- Kirben has left IRC (Read error: 104 (Connection reset by peer))
[10:16:04] <-- Dominus has left IRC (Read error: 113 (No route to host))

[10:55:23] <-- cnj has left IRC ("[x]chat")
[11:18:41] * Darke snuggles up to the bot, feeling all lonesome. *grin*
[11:40:22] --> royalsexy has joined #exult
[11:40:34] * royalsexy waves g'day
[11:40:45] * Darke pawwaves. Hi!
[11:41:04] <royalsexy> hows stuff darke? :)
[11:42:27] --> toad`sMok has joined #exult
[11:43:48] <Darke> royalsexy: Hmm... not too bad, although I'm feeling far sleepier then I should at this time of night. *grin* How are things with you?
[11:44:24] <royalsexy> quite fine here, just found out theres an ipv6 openprojects.org server, thought i'd drop by :)
[11:44:49] <royalsexy> is the whole exult project still going along? :)
[11:46:17] <Darke> Indeed. One of these days we'll get around to releasing the v1.0 of exult that we've been planning to do for so long. *grin* I sometimes wonder if everyone else has forgotten about it.
[11:47:35] <royalsexy> hehe good stuff :)
[11:47:52] <royalsexy> i haven't even checked the site for updates in oh-so-long ;)
[11:49:39] <royalsexy> If you checked our download page recently, you may have noticed that we have two sets of development snapshots now: a 1.0.x (stable) snapshot, and a 1.1.x (unstable) snapshot.
[11:49:41] <royalsexy> thats a big step :)
[11:49:51] * Darke hasn't really done much with exult in ages, or done much code in a while at all. Been feeling a little frazzled and distracted by work recently. *grin*
[11:50:25] <Darke> Yep. *grin*
[11:50:41] <royalsexy> ahh work, always getting in the way of serious ultima ;P
[11:52:07] * Darke nodnods. Something like that. *grin*
[11:57:33] --> Colourless has joined #Exult
[11:57:33] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Colourless
[11:57:47] <Colourless> hi
[11:57:54] * royalsexy waves g'day
[11:57:59] <royalsexy> 'sup Colourless? :)
[11:58:21] <Colourless> nothing much
[11:59:08] <royalsexy> ooh someone wrote some documentation for exult studio while i wasn't looking
[11:59:11] * royalsexy goes to read
[12:00:38] <Darke> Hi Colourless!
[12:02:01] <Darke> http://www.theatlantic.com/issues/2002/09/mann.htm This is a nice, entertaining read about the 'human' side of computer security, including lots of bits of tangental history. *grin*
[12:06:01] <Darke> Colourless: Just a quick question, any idea how to handle the 'Copyright' statements in some of the code that's shared between Exult and Pentagram such as args.[h|cc]? Change the 'The Exult Team' to 'The Exult and Pentagram Teams'? Or just add another line below it like: 'Copyright (C) 2002 The Pentagram Team'? It's just going to get a little confusing if we backport some of the pentagram code back into exult. *grin*
[12:06:36] <Colourless> IMO 2 lines
[12:08:16] <Darke> *nod* That was my guess as well. Logically all we'd have to do is to update the year for the 'Exult Team' one, since currently the Pentagram Team is a subset of that. *grin*
[12:37:23] <-- toad`sMok has left IRC (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[12:40:14] <-- royalsexy has left IRC ()
[12:44:14] * Darke yawns and wanders off to join his mind in sleep. Night!

[14:41:09] <artaxerxes> I think there is a usecode engine pb
[14:42:25] <artaxerxes> as soon as the combat with the sentinelle is over, and the conversation with the sword daemon is finished, the output gets absolutely crazy, with one line coming out a good 100 times:
[14:42:40] <artaxerxes> Running usecode 08af (0000, 087896e0) with event 6
[14:42:40] <artaxerxes> Sound effect 76 request in usecode

[15:58:57] <wjp> hm, yes, Breakpoints::check should never be called unless you have USECODE_DEBUGGING defined
[15:59:18] <wjp> (which is something I wouldn't do in anything even vaguely resembling rreleasable code)
[16:04:31] <wjp> anyway, I should be going again :-)
[16:04:35] <wjp> bb later tonight
[16:04:36] <-- wjp has left IRC ("gtg")
[16:08:05] <artaxerxes> I'm going to compile without USECODE_DEBUGGING then
[16:08:57] <Colourless> heh, there was no reason you would ever want that enabled, unless you are wjp or something
[16:09:11] <Colourless> you couldn't even use it properly on the z
[16:21:21] --> toad`sMok has joined #exult
[16:22:36] <artaxerxes> it's not compiled in for the z
[16:22:53] <artaxerxes> wb
[16:26:44] <artaxerxes> I just put it in to test exult on my normal desktop at this stage of the game
[16:52:33] <artaxerxes> now that's weird... I recompiled exult without USECODE_DEBUGGER and it works on the desktop. The thing is, I am POSITIVE it's not compiled in on the z....
[16:52:41] <artaxerxes> and still it crashes on the z
