[13:09:21] <Colourless> Hi
[13:33:30] <Nadir> hi
[13:35:44] --> TonyHoyt has joined #Exult
[13:35:51] <TonyHoyt> Hello people. What's new?
[13:36:06] <Colourless> hi
[13:36:13] <Colourless> not much AFAIK
[13:37:08] <TonyHoyt> What is afaik again?
[13:38:19] <Colourless> as far as I know
[13:38:29] <TonyHoyt> Ah, Okay.
[13:39:03] <TonyHoyt> Hmm No new messages since early evening yesterday. Let me see what's in the ChangeLog off the cvs...
[13:43:05] <TonyHoyt> Hmm Sprite affects fixed... Okay.
[13:53:14] <Nadir> played SI a bit.
[13:54:01] <Nadir> Shmed (Test of Knighthood) should take away my items and replace them with a simple armour, hammer, and a key to open the door in the mountain, but it doesn't happen...
[13:54:45] <TonyHoyt> That's a cool dungeon in the game.
[13:55:22] <TonyHoyt> But do you think it's more intrinsic usecode codes that need to be figured?
[13:55:42] <Colourless> I would think os
[13:55:44] <Colourless> so
[13:56:28] <TonyHoyt> Is there some kind of way see use code as it's being executed? A second window that pop's up and show's you what was run and what flag's where changed.
[13:56:44] <Colourless> yep there sure is
[13:56:49] <TonyHoyt> sweeet
[13:59:30] <Colourless> if Exult didn't have that capability it would be almost impossible to work things out
[14:00:26] <TonyHoyt> I've just never seen it. Then again I've only run windows exe's and looked at the cheat codes but not much else.
[14:01:32] <Colourless> under windows it's not obvious, on Linux though it's different
[14:03:17] <TonyHoyt> Grrrr, more and more I keep hearing about I should have Linux. Me thinks maybe I should get a dual boot Win98/Linux box.
[14:05:04] <Nadir> Hmmm, I've decided to scrap yesterday's work on ExultStudio and start from scratch
[14:05:19] <TonyHoyt> Why so, Nadir?
[14:06:03] <Nadir> Because I'm using Glade to generate the interface (and the .c files). If I modify the C files I can't regenarate the interface without losing mods.
[14:08:04] <Colourless> i've written a mingw_kludges.h and modified the makefiles on my computer. if Exult compiles like this, I'll commit them.
[14:09:25] <TonyHoyt> Nadir: I'm clueless to what Glade is. Mind Filling me in? I'm curious.
[14:11:09] <Nadir> Glade is a GTK+ interface generator
[14:12:50] <Nadir> F**k it ! I want to use libglade !
[14:14:11] <TonyHoyt> Oooh, So is it like a tool simular to yacc where you write down some rules or a description and it generates the GTK+ code for you?
[14:15:59] <Nadir> Not quite. It is a GUI, not unlike Visual Basic's Form Editor. It produces an XML description of the interface. You can then, either generate .C files or load it dynamically at runtime using libglade
[14:16:07] <Nadir> http://glade.pn.org/
[14:19:59] <TonyHoyt> Ooooh, Must look at...
[14:19:59] <TonyHoyt> Cross platform?
[14:19:59] <Nadir> Linux only I believe
[14:19:59] <Nadir> But since you can have GTK+ on Windoze, I guess you can have Glade and libglade
[14:20:00] <Colourless> you would think that wouldn't you
[14:20:00] <Nadir> I guess one can try...
[14:20:21] <Nadir> First step is getting libxml 1.8.x going on Win32 (which has already been done)
[14:21:11] <Colourless> there shouldn't really be anyreason why it wouldn't be possible, from quickly looking at the page, no one has done it yet
[14:21:43] <Nadir> You can have the honour of being the first :-)
[14:21:58] <Colourless> heh. i have other things to do :)
[14:22:15] <Nadir> That, and I haven't made my mind up yet
[14:30:50] <Colourless> commited my changes. Exult will now compile with mingw32 once again. :)

[15:23:25] <TonyHoyt> Boss poped in. back..
[15:24:03] <Colourless> well, you didn't miss much
[15:24:41] <TonyHoyt> Port Glade to Windows. That's the discussion... I don't know I I'm that smart.
[15:32:28] <Colourless> that was the discussion over 1 hour ago :)
[15:33:15] <TonyHoyt> *laughs* Okay okay. So I'm a little behind in the time line. But I'm looking over glade and it looks neat.
[15:37:06] <Colourless> :)
[15:41:08] <TonyHoyt> I'd muck with it on my current sun box but I would have to install automake and such and the last time I did that, a work sun box blew up. I had to quietly re-install a lot of software without telling anyone what I did to it.
