[06:47:14] --> Darke|afk has joined #exult
[06:48:01] --- Darke|afk is now known as Darke
[07:16:52] --> Kirben has joined #exult
[07:16:52] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Kirben
[09:08:55] --> SB-X has joined #exult
[09:08:59] <SB-X> Alloo!
[09:09:07] <Darke> Hiya!
[09:10:01] <SB-X> hows [#]exult doing today?
[09:15:10] <SB-X> looks like Google's birthday
[09:16:03] <SB-X> exult.sourceforge.net/ is what you get when you type in Exult and click I'm Feeling Lucky! btw
[09:20:17] * Darke snickers. Cool!
[09:21:29] <SB-X> You're going to go Gold by Christmas aren't you?
[09:26:36] <Darke> Not a clue. *grin* I hope so.
[09:27:07] <SB-X> Will you paint Colourless gold for the occassion?
[09:27:16] <SB-X> ... or at least red and green?
[09:31:58] * Darke considers red and green, with gold highlights along his wing blades. *noddlenod*
[09:44:47] <SB-X> that sounds very nice
[09:54:54] --> Dark-Star has joined #exult
[09:55:34] <SB-X> hello
[09:55:38] <Dark-Star> hi
[09:56:40] <Darke> Hi!
[09:58:12] <SB-X> has anyone seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail?
[09:59:03] <Dark-Star> sure
[10:00:57] <SB-X> i just saw it for the first time last week
[10:01:11] <SB-X> and then repeatedly over the week up to today :)
[10:01:20] <Dark-Star> hehe :-)
[10:01:59] <Dark-Star> I like it too. I think it's even better than Life of Brian, although most people I know disagree with me here...
[10:02:10] * Darke has, unsurprisingly, seen it too, and has read the script. *grin*
[10:02:26] * Darke prefers the Holy Grail too. *grin*
[10:02:47] <SB-X> i havn't seen any of their other movies, but this one is really really really funny :)
[10:03:16] <SB-X> one of the most hilarious movies i've seen in a long time
[10:03:39] <Dark-Star> you should watch Life of Brian, it's very good too
[10:03:48] <SB-X> Darke: oh yeah I remember now you showed a link to a script on the web :)
[10:04:13] <SB-X> the DVD has a screenplay subtitle option
[10:04:30] <SB-X> is it anything like The Holy Grail?
[10:05:31] <Dark-Star> well, it is equally hilarious... although most people like it more than The Holy Grail
[10:07:03] <Dark-Star> There's also Jabberwocky (did I spell it correctly?) but it's one of their first movies and IMHO it isn't as good as the others (although it *did* make me laugh a lot...)
[10:08:02] <SB-X> sounds good... I just really wanted to see The Holy Grail for a while and don't know anything about the other movies
[10:09:35] <SB-X> One of my favorite scenes is when the king of swamp castle was telling the guards to keep prince herbert in the room. I've laughed every time I even think of it now. :->
[10:10:46] <SB-X> or the Trojan Rabbit
[10:11:04] <SB-X> or the rabbit monster
[10:12:50] <Dark-Star> The instructions for the holy hand grenade: "3 is the number to count to. Not 2. And also not 4. The 5 is right out ................." (don't know the exact text in english)
[10:13:17] <SB-X> hehe
[10:13:35] <SB-X> "He's got huge, sharp... eh... he can leap about... ... look at the bones!!"
[10:16:03] <SB-X> Oh and also, Graham Chapman would have made a damn fine Lord British if an Ultima movie were made then. :-)
[10:16:34] * Darke nodnodnodnodnods!
[10:16:55] <Darke> The 'devilbunny' I believe. *grin*
[11:49:09] --> Colourless has joined #Exult
[11:49:09] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Colourless
[11:49:29] <Colourless> hi
[11:49:42] <Darke> Greetings!
[11:49:56] <Colourless> how goes it small rabbit
[11:58:43] <Colourless> due to lack of non response, assumption is "it doesn't go"
[11:58:54] * Darke ponders. In general, not too bad.
[11:59:03] * Colourless hangs head in shame over his double negetive
[11:59:45] * Darke snickers and didn't notice. Too used to people's bad typing I suppose. *grin*
[12:01:25] <Colourless> double negatives (got the spelling correct this time) are so commonly used in causual speech it's somewhat worrying... it's dragging the quality of the english language down :-)
[12:03:20] <SB-X> hi Colourless
[12:03:31] <SB-X> bye!
[12:03:35] <-- SB-X has left IRC ("ZzzzZzz")
[12:04:09] * Darke has problems parsing double negatives, so he tends to ignore them and just grok the meaning from the context. *grin*
[12:05:59] <Colourless> also people using words that don't actually exist and use them in incorrect context assume the word actually did exist. An example people who use the word irregardless when they actually mean regardless. Not only is irregardless not a word, the 'ir' prefix negates the meaning of the word, so irregardless actually means regarding, and that is not the desired meaning :-)
[12:09:11] * Darke hmms... actually, apparently irregardless is a word: http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?va=irregardless If you trust a .us dictionary that is. *grin*
[12:10:59] <Darke> But yeah, 'regardless' would be kind of preferrable. It's like people using 'inflammable' instead of just plain 'flammable', they must think it makes it sound 'sophisticated' or something. *grin*
[12:11:07] <Colourless> irregard = have no regard. regardless = doing something without regard. logically then irregardless = doing something with no irregard
[12:11:30] <Colourless> therefore you would be doing something with regard :-)
[12:11:40] <Colourless> therefore the context people use the word in, is incorrect
[12:12:30] <Colourless> inflammable is one of those exceptions to the rule
[12:12:37] <Darke> Of course. *grin*
[12:12:46] <Darke> (For both cases *grin*)
[12:15:09] <Colourless> :-)
[12:25:32] <Colourless> so rc5-64 was finally cracked
[12:29:28] * Darke blinks. Cool.
[12:29:44] <Colourless> http://www.distributed.net/pressroom/news-20020926.html
[12:35:28] * Darke reads. Neat.
[12:57:47] * Darke considers that he's spent _so_ much time looking at the code to disasm in vi at work, it looks really weird now looking at it using his IDE. *grin*
[12:57:59] <Colourless> hehe
[13:04:58] <Darke> IDEs are evil I tell you. Evil! Use vi and commandlines and stuff!
[13:05:41] <Colourless> strange that really seems to be a linux users point of view :-)
[13:06:01] <Darke> IIRC wjp uses emacs, so it probably isn't. *grin*
[13:06:04] <Colourless> why use a gui when you can use a thousand keystrokes and do the same thing in a cli :-)
[13:08:16] <Darke> Scarily no. *grin* I just quickly used vi to add a ';' O
[13:08:40] <Darke> I'd forgotten. I was too lazy to reach for the mouse to use my ide properly. *grin*
[14:29:50] --> wjp has joined #exult
[14:29:50] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to wjp
[14:29:58] <Darke> Hi!
[14:30:13] <wjp> hi
[14:30:26] <Colourless> hi
[14:31:31] <-- Kirben has left IRC ("System Meltdown")
[14:45:17] --> Nadir has joined #exult
[14:45:18] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Nadir
[14:45:44] <Colourless> hi
[14:45:57] <Nadir> hi
[14:46:10] <Nadir> have you guys read http://www.advogato.org/person/dancer/
[14:49:40] <Darke> Hi.
[14:50:00] * Darke reads and boggles. Ouch.
[14:51:41] <wjp> ack, cardiac arrests? ouch indeed
[14:59:02] * Darke yawns and decides that sleep is preferable to qwerty-itis. Night all!
[14:59:14] --- Darke is now known as Darke|zzZ
[14:59:54] <Colourless> cya
[15:05:18] <wjp> night
[15:05:26] * Darke|zzZ quickly hops back in and paints thin stripes of gold paint, (with the occasional silver highlight) down Colourless' wing blades, before disappearing just as quickly.
[15:08:33] <Colourless> ugh
[15:39:23] <Nadir> I hope Dancer's fine now. Does anyone know how old he is ?
[15:41:16] <Colourless> i think everyone hopes he is all right. sorry, no idea what his age is.
[15:49:33] <Nadir> it's amazing how little we know about each other
[15:52:20] <Colourless> yeah it is a bit
[15:53:58] <Colourless> about all we really know is everyones name and where we are all from
[15:59:32] <Colourless> sort of makes we wonder though. what if something did happen to one of us. there is a real good chance that the rest wouldn't even know what has happened
[16:03:49] --> Suvroc has joined #exult
[16:08:08] <Nadir> indeed
[16:08:38] <Suvroc> hi
[16:08:49] <wjp> hi
[16:09:30] <Colourless> hi
[16:29:21] <Nadir> bye
[16:29:25] <-- Nadir has left IRC ("Uscita dal client")
[16:29:29] <Colourless> cya
[17:08:23] <Colourless> no... this can't be... typing my name (Ryan Nunn) into google and pressing I'm Feeling Lucky no longer brings up a page that has anything to do with me!
