[23:21:30] <Dominus> soooo, after a lot of trial and error, I found to make a game "startable" with the introduction scene I need to do
[23:21:59] <Dominus> - start a new unaltered game and save the contents of the gamedat folder
[23:23:56] <Dominus> - then make changes to the map but do NOT alter the starting part of the map (u7ireg64)
[23:24:40] <Dominus> - after changes, save via ES and unzip the initgame.dat created by that save
[23:25:53] <Dominus> - replace the three files flaginit, npc.dat and u7ireg64 of the initgame.dat with the one from the gamedat folder saved in step 1
[23:26:15] <Dominus> - zip the initgame.dat folder again
[23:26:24] <Dominus> -start a new game!!!

[23:36:01] <Dominus> the problem is that when you edit a game you are not able to start a new game including the introduction scene (BG iolo and peter talking, moongate etc)
[23:36:36] <Marzo> - Start Exult with --edit, load the mod and start a new game
[23:37:09] <Marzo> The game should start paused in edit mode, but the avatar can move because of edit mode
[23:37:27] <Marzo> (if the avatar can't move, this is a bug and should be fixed)
[23:37:44] <Marzo> - Make note of the avatar's position
[23:38:01] <Marzo> - Edit away to your heart's content, including the initial chunk
[23:38:18] <Marzo> - Return the avatar to the starting position and save

[23:39:41] <Marzo> For added safety, after you start the new game, you can immediately press Ctrl+R to make sure
[23:40:07] <Marzo> Oh, and make sure to disable the option that allows skipping the initial cutscene
[23:40:09] <Dominus> got to try... somehow "new mod" didn't register with my brain
