[12:15:17] <Colourless> hi
[12:19:58] <Darke> Hi.
[12:21:55] <Colourless> whoa i'm speaking more than 2 words here
[12:23:05] <Darke> Woah! I can, like, talk, y'know?!?
[12:23:16] <Fingolfin> two words? I can speak nine in a row!
[12:23:58] <Colourless> Get out of here! I can even write, two or maybe three sentences at a time. Aint it great!
[12:25:15] * Darke gasps! Colourless has mastered the art of capitals! And punctuation! This Can Not Be!
[12:25:26] <Darke> BTW, shouldn't it be "Ain't"?
[12:25:58] <Colourless> You have an idea of the correct punctuation for 'Aint'?
[12:26:33] <Colourless> It's not like it's some bastardized version of "isn't it", at all is it. :-)
[12:26:59] <Colourless> s/isn't it/isn't/
[12:27:01] <Darke> No, it ain't!
[12:27:26] * Matt_O yawns, revealing rows of pointy, sharp teeth, perfect for devouring rabbits
[12:27:53] * Darke denies being skilled in bastardising languages.
[12:28:13] * Darke issues Matt_O with a Health and Safety violation for carrying sharp objects in an unprotected manner.
[12:28:14] <Colourless> You lack of z usage is distrubing.
[12:28:21] <Colourless> s/You/Your/
[12:29:43] * Darke coughs. Even an American Dic. says that's a valid, if British, variation. *grin*
[12:31:34] <Colourless> now, which variation were you talking about :-)
[12:33:00] <Darke> Of what? Barstardising or Barstardizing? *grin*
[12:33:34] <Colourless> um yeah
[12:33:58] * Darke admits he was polite enough not to mention your distURbing misspelling too. *grin*
[12:34:16] <Darke> Ok, so what was the question again? *grin*
[12:34:26] <Colourless> don't you like distrubing? :-)
[12:34:43] <Darke> It's just distrubed. *grin*
[12:36:01] <Colourless> so what is the definition of 'distrub' ?
[12:36:27] <Darke> An annoying, unexpected massage?
[12:37:07] <Darke> An abrasive and irritating linux distro? ("Use us... 'cause all other distros *suck*, luser!")
[12:37:52] <Darke> A distributed compiler for the 'rub' programming language?
[12:38:01] <Colourless> being rubbed, from a distance perhaps?
[12:38:13] <Darke> A telekenetic backrub?
[12:38:18] <Darke> Ahh. *grin*
[12:41:22] <Colourless> i think we have a consensus
[12:41:43] * Colourless casts distrub on Darke, and regrets it
[12:43:40] * Darke eeps! Hey! Who rubbed my back! *paranoidlook*
[12:44:36] * Darke disappears and will be back to determine just *who* rubbed his back in a minute or so.

[12:51:21] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Darke
[12:54:13] * Darke just had to reinstall a dvd player he'd previously defenestrated due to it's destabilising influence on the system. After suriving, and serving it's time in the detention center for pathetic-failing revolutionaries, it's successfully being reintegrated into society.
[12:54:26] <Colourless> wasn't me! I swear!
[12:55:16] <Darke> Colourless: Riiiiiiight!
[12:55:45] * Darke really should make a "First up against the wall when the revolution comes" joke here, but can't be bothered. *grin*
[12:56:40] <Colourless> well you just suck then don't you
[12:57:16] <Darke> Who told you! *paranoidlook* I mean... *ahem*
[12:57:59] <Colourless> what I reveal that I know, may not be all that I know, or it may be more than what I know, or it may not be anything that I know at all
[12:58:25] <Colourless> *know* this though, I *know*
[12:58:44] * Darke tries to work out why exactly a mage would make a telekeneic scratching spell for. Annoying itch in a hard to reach place?
[12:59:04] <Darke> Umm... right. *blink* I'll just be over *here*.
[13:00:02] <Colourless> there is a perfectly good reason. You are unable to move your hands and you need to scratch an itch
[13:00:59] <-- Fingolfin has left IRC ("42")
[13:04:51] * Darke makes a mental note that the spell must logicly only have vocal component though.
[13:04:58] <Darke> s/though/then/
[13:06:41] <Colourless> many spells wer purely vocal
[13:06:47] <Colourless> s/wer/are
[13:15:29] * Darke remembers (though can't locate) there was a cantrip that did almost that listed in Unearthed Arcana and an old Dragon Mag article (archived in one of their annuals). It only had a somatic (I think that was the word, something fancy meaning using your body/'gesture') component to triggering it, twitching your nose. *grin* Which either created or scratched an itch.
[13:18:07] <Darke> Of course, this is the sort of spell that most magic-users in rpgs would get for free. Using it on an enemy as an 'offensive' spell only just delayed their action by 1/10th of a combat round as they scratched or ignored it. Which really was nothing. *grin*
[13:18:48] <Colourless> :-)
[13:20:01] <Darke> (You could replace any 1st level spell with three cantrips. This, of course, was an incredibly stupid move for any mage under 10th level who *needed* their spells to survive. Of course it was pretty much worthless over then anyway. *grin*)
[13:21:38] <Darke> I think one of the non-core books for 2nd ed actually added cantrips back to it too, but made a more logical method of giving them up to, IIRC, 2xInt cantrips per nap time. So they'd actually be useful and *used*. *grin*
