[00:02:58] <Dominus> except that I placed the doorway on the west wall
[00:21:20] <Dominus> That's what I'm working on. Castleton, the area owned by Richard Garriott where the HoBLotH event was that I attended in May

[08:32:04] <Dominus> now let's see about hexediting my chunk
[08:44:21] --> Lightkey has joined #exult
[09:59:19] <Dominus> hmm, Marzo, for our chunk format we save in patch there is actually no header and a chunk has only 512 bytes
[10:03:59] <Marzo> Dominus: oh, right, we only use the new format if you have a chunk with a shape >= 1024 or a frame >= 32
[10:04:35] <Marzo> So chunk N is in position 512*N and takes up 512 bytes instead
[10:10:23] <Dominus> the chunk browser could use a "go to chunk:" field :)
[10:18:33] <Dominus> Marzo, thanks again. This hex editing works fine
[10:21:30] <Marzo> Dominus: https://trello.com/c/MeZK03K5
[10:43:26] <Dominus> I might move all my cloned and edited chunks down to the end of the u7chunk file through that hex editing
[10:45:01] <Dominus> Will help me to keep sane and a cleaner chunkfile and easier to see through comparison which chunk I screwed up in case I do that ;)
[11:02:06] <Marzo> Note that if you do that, you will need to hex edit the map too
[11:17:29] <Dominus> Yes, Marzo, but I'm planning to use the long way. Making new chunks at the end, hex copying from the to-be-deleted chunk, replacing the chunk in map with the new one, deleting the old one
[11:20:45] <Marzo> Yes, that will do
[11:21:06] <Marzo> And will be a bit easier than hex editing the map
[11:21:51] <Marzo> I need to get working on these two cards: https://trello.com/c/SMMCRw6b https://trello.com/c/VnAtE4mW
[11:48:45] <Dominus> yes, those two would be great to have
[11:50:56] <Dominus> Everything that's not a binary is helping IMO
[13:35:01] <Dominus> bah, my u7chunk file is a mess already. itsy bitsy tiny changes to varios chunks that I didn't even plan to do... :(
[16:56:56] <Dominus> Ok, after messing with this, I really think we are handling chunks really wrong
[16:58:16] <Dominus> Rather than changing the chunk order and adjusting the map, the new chunks should get appended
[16:59:24] <Dominus> Of course best like a patch instrad of messing up existing chunks when you move a wall or slip over to neighboring chunks on terrain editing
