[08:21:03] <avenger> lynx, do you know why github "hates" me?
[08:21:08] <fuzzie> does it?
[08:21:24] <avenger> definitely
[08:21:40] <avenger> see https://github.com/gemrb/gemrb/graphs/contributors

[08:22:13] <fuzzie> oh, right, because your git commits use an invalid email
[08:22:28] <fuzzie> can you not add that email to your account anyway?
[08:22:50] <avenger> sure, if i find out what is it and how to add :P
[08:23:18] <fuzzie> you commit as avenger_teambg@sourceforge.net
[08:23:21] <avenger> i didn't finish my github user walkthrough
[08:23:34] <avenger> hmm how is that invalid
[08:23:39] <fuzzie> because it's not @users.
[08:23:46] <avenger> ah
[08:23:57] <fuzzie> so you can't get any email there, but I don't think it should matter for contributor linking
[08:24:13] <avenger> ok, what matters then
[08:24:13] <fuzzie> ('Emails' under your account settings)
[08:26:48] <avenger> probably it won't allow an invalid email
[08:26:56] <avenger> wants to validate anyway
[08:27:52] <fuzzie> supposedly validation is meant to be optional
[08:28:14] <fuzzie> their help does still say, not mandatory
[08:30:25] <avenger> ok, this is helpful and definitive: https://help.github.com/articles/setting-your-email-in-git

[08:32:14] <fuzzie> note that force-pushing will break everyone else's copies, so don't do it :p
[08:33:03] <fuzzie> although possibly for gemrb you could just manually talk to everyone with a copy checked out
[08:33:29] <fuzzie> the cache thing is nice to know though
[08:33:49] <fuzzie> ah yes, it works if I pick older commits from gemrb repo

[13:44:48] <elderman> Hello, I just bought BG1 from GOG and am setting up to play it for the first time using GemRB 0.8.0.1 on Linux Mint. I've run into a problem with screen resolution that I don't understand.
[13:45:09] <elderman> Here's the pastebin of the terminal output
[13:45:10] <elderman> http://pastebin.com/6a7PTAG4
[13:45:15] <Seniorita> me@mylaptop-temp:~/.wine/drive_c/GOG Games/Baldur's Gate$ gemrb -c ~/gemrb.cfg . - Pastebin.com
[13:45:31] <elderman> Thanks Seniorita
[13:45:40] <elderman> ;)
[13:46:59] <elderman> I'm running of a 1366 x 768 monitor
[13:47:27] <elderman> But GemRB says my monitor's not big enough.
[13:49:36] <elderman> I've run at both full screen and in a window with the same results.
[13:50:00] <elderman> I'll hang around for a while and home there's someone here who can help me out.
[13:50:20] <elderman> * hope
[15:37:30] <elderman> Ok, fixed by just specifying the window dimensions in the config file.
[15:47:37] <-- elderman has left IRC (Remote host closed the connection)

[15:48:00] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to lynxlynxlynx
[15:53:40] --> elderman has joined #gemrb
[16:18:19] <elderman> So I'm finding that since I got the screen proportions right, gemrb isn't really going full screen
[16:18:54] <elderman> It captures the mouse, but doesn't change resolutions and the background windows are all visible
[16:19:20] <elderman> the game window is anchored to the upper-left corner of the screen
[16:20:30] <elderman> If I don't specify the resolution in the config file or if I specify the wrong one, it tries to go really full-screen, with a letter box and all, but then of course there are other problems.
[16:20:58] <elderman> This is if I specify fullscreen in the config file

[17:07:36] <lynxlynxlynx> did you use the widescreen mod?
[17:07:43] <lynxlynxlynx> there's a very limited resolution choice otherwise
[17:21:36] <elderman> Oh, hi.
[17:21:46] <elderman> I'm in the process of installing mods
[17:22:26] <elderman> I just thought I'd make sure the games run well on their own before fiddling with them
[17:22:49] <elderman> I had some trouble upgrading Planescape: Torment under wine
[17:29:56] <lynxlynxlynx> good idea
[17:30:27] <lynxlynxlynx> i don't think pst supported anything but 640x480
[17:30:54] <elderman> There's a widescreen mod, but I couldn't get it to work under wine
[17:31:08] <elderman> And trying to get it to work borked the installation
[17:31:52] <lynxlynxlynx> if you can't make it work, that's the resolution you'll have to use then
[17:32:04] <elderman> Yeah, and I don't mind
[17:32:09] <fuzzie> widescreen mod should run fine under non-wine of course
[17:32:21] <-- |Cable| has left IRC (Ping timeout: 248 seconds)
[17:32:25] <elderman> Yes, and that's a good option for people who have windows installations
[17:32:45] <fuzzie> it's just a weidu script
[17:32:51] <lynxlynxlynx> yep
[17:33:00] <fuzzie> there are prebuilt weidu binaries for linux/x86 and OS X
[17:33:13] <fuzzie> and it's not *too* painful to build elsewhere although it's kind of non-trivial
[17:33:20] <elderman> hmm
[17:33:25] <elderman> interesting
[17:33:26] <fuzzie> but if you can run wine at all I guess you can just use the linux one
[17:33:51] <elderman> yes...
[17:33:57] <elderman> I didn't know there was a linux installer
[17:34:07] <elderman> perhaps this wasn't true when I tried to install it?
[17:34:24] <elderman> anyway
[17:34:29] <elderman> I'll look that up next
[17:34:36] <elderman> thanks for the tip

[18:18:30] <lynxlynxlynx> weidu was developed on linux
[18:20:40] <elderman> well, I may be doing it wrong again: I'm instaling BGT-WeiDU under wine
[18:21:01] <elderman> after having installed the WeiDU fixpack using the Linux script
[18:23:02] <elderman> Well, the game still runs
