[07:58:43] <IndigoHD> Hi everyone
[07:59:01] <IndigoHD> Having some slight problems with Installation of GemRB for Android Devices
[07:59:13] <IndigoHD> Runnning a 7inch Tablet with ICS 4.0.3
[07:59:24] <IndigoHD> and i purchased my copy of Baldurs Gate 2 from GOG
[07:59:59] <IndigoHD> GemRB keeps starting up, the Screen remains black after a while and them im returned to my homescreen.
[08:00:06] <IndigoHD> i cant figure out what i did wrong, to be honest
[08:05:02] <IndigoHD> i put my GemRB.cfg on pastebin, maybe that would help.
[08:05:03] <IndigoHD> http://pastebin.com/vyLR1Dgt
[08:09:34] <edheldil> And the log?
[08:10:08] <IndigoHD> im sorry, i dont think i fully understand.
[08:11:27] <IndigoHD> where would i find the logfile?
[08:11:32] <edheldil> There should be a log file somewhere... On the first sight I am suspicious of the 1024x600 resolution, but I am not sure what's in GOG's versin
[08:11:53] <IndigoHD> 1024x600 is the Resolution of my tablet.
[08:11:58] <edheldil> try to change it to 800x600
[08:12:03] <IndigoHD> i will
[08:12:45] <IndigoHD> did you mean 800x640? or 800x600?
[08:13:20] <edheldil> 800x600, or even 640x480
[08:13:24] <IndigoHD> okay
[08:13:26] <IndigoHD> ill do that
[08:13:28] <IndigoHD> one second
[08:13:29] <-- duckpunch has left IRC (Ping timeout: 245 seconds)
[08:14:09] <IndigoHD> done
[08:14:14] <IndigoHD> i shall try starting it now.
[08:15:02] <IndigoHD> you were correct. It appears to be working now.
[08:15:33] --> duckpunch has joined #gemrb
[08:15:43] <IndigoHD> how can i increase the resolution without losing functionality tho?
[08:15:52] <edheldil> you would have to apply WideScreenMod to get other than original resolutions
[08:16:06] <IndigoHD> i shall try that now
[08:16:52] <edheldil> look at http://www.gibberlings3.net/widescreen/
[08:17:03] <IndigoHD> thank you
[08:17:19] <IndigoHD> but i am wondering.
[08:17:41] <IndigoHD> Since my Tablet is running ICS, it constantly shows Bars on top and bottom of the screen.
[08:18:01] <IndigoHD> so i dont think i can use all pixels available to me as my full resolution.
[08:18:11] <IndigoHD> am i correct in that assumption?
[08:20:59] <edheldil> I have no idea, I have no tablet or android
[08:21:08] <IndigoHD> ah, okay.
[08:21:12] <IndigoHD> thank you nonetheless!
[08:21:22] <edheldil> you are welcome
[08:22:19] <edheldil> look at the G3 forum, there's android support thread, I think
[08:23:04] <IndigoHD> thank you!
[08:23:09] <IndigoHD> i shall do so right away.
[08:31:58] <alx3apps> IndigoHD: there were such problems on android 3.0 - http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showtopic=23867&view=findpost&p=195928 (workaround - patch data files to smaller vertical resolution) It's ok on my 2.3, though.
[08:32:44] <IndigoHD> thank you alx3apps.
[08:33:02] <IndigoHD> i was actually wondering how much i should lower it exactly.
[08:33:06] <IndigoHD> im quite unsure.
[08:33:17] <IndigoHD> but i shall read through your link now.
[08:36:56] <alx3apps> in that thread in 3.0 menu bar is 48 pixels, so 1280x752 fits (on 10.1 tablet). But maybe it's better to try first enable fullscreen in gemrb.cfg and baldur.ini , I'll try to find topic about them now
[08:37:44] <IndigoHD> thank you
[08:37:55] <IndigoHD> my tablet is 7inches and has a resolution of 1024x600
[08:38:08] <IndigoHD> it runs Android 4.0.3
[08:38:18] <IndigoHD> so values for Honeycomb are propably not acurate any longer.
[08:39:45] <IndigoHD> Im sorry for my lack of expertise.
[08:39:54] <IndigoHD> Im quite greatful for everyone shelp, tho.
[08:45:37] <alx3apps> settings are in gemrb.cfg Fullscreen=1 , and in baldur.ini Full Screen=1 . If they won't work it's better to patch data file to something like 1024x552
[08:45:58] <alx3apps> Full Screen=1 under [Program Options] in baldur.ini
[08:46:08] <IndigoHD> thats actually what i just did ; )
[08:46:10] <IndigoHD> it works
[08:46:20] <IndigoHD> but i fear 48 pixels might be overkill on my resolution
[08:46:28] <IndigoHD> i shall try other resolutions by elimination now
[08:48:30] <alx3apps> just in case some android settings info is here http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showtopic=24008&view=findpost&p=197748

[10:30:39] <CIA-110> GemRB: 03lynxlupodian * re35d3906a3c6 10gemrb/gemrb/GUIScripts/GUIREC.py: fixed a few elemental resistance strings for non-bg2
[10:31:13] <IndigoHD> Ive gotten BG2 to work on GemRB-Android
[10:31:30] <IndigoHD> but is there a faster way to scroll, than to tap the sidebars?
[10:31:42] <IndigoHD> i find myself rather slow in combat situations because of this.
[10:34:48] <lynxlynxlynx> there's a multitouch gesture too
[10:35:08] <IndigoHD> there is?
[10:35:14] <lynxlynxlynx> but i have no clue whether that is already generalised or only available for ios
[10:35:16] <IndigoHD> how would i perform that?
[10:35:25] <lynxlynxlynx> check the wiki
[10:35:39] <IndigoHD> thanks, ill try!

[12:23:33] <lynxlynxlynx> any luck with making the build slave alx3apps?
[12:30:30] <alx3apps> I learned something about android build on dosbox example, so I could make gemrb-centric android build now. But haven't tried this with gemrb yet. Now for urgent changes (e.g. on testing) I can build versions on demand and upload them somewhere directly for testers to not to bug you every time with SF upload.
[12:32:11] <lynxlynxlynx> if you have a ftp account somewhere, that'd be great
[12:32:44] <lynxlynxlynx> but if you make the slave, this is solved foreverafter :)
[12:34:53] <lynxlynxlynx> https://sourceforge.net/projects/gemrb/files/Other%20Binaries/android/0.7.1-alpha1/?
[12:50:12] <alx3apps> Don't want to setup public FTP - I can use dropbox instead. Just tried it, seems like it works - https://www.dropbox.com/s/inr313f054b1bnu/gemrb_e35d390_20120521.apk . Build slave definitely will be greater, but it still needs work
[13:02:35] <lynxlynxlynx> can you download from there without registering?
[13:08:51] <alx3apps> I think yes, this link seems public
[13:15:19] <lynxlynxlynx> ok, then it's fine
