[16:58:38] <raevol> yea i've been meaning to give it a whirl, it's been a while since i last tried it
[16:59:02] <raevol> is it not currently packaged for ubuntu? i thought it was
[17:01:45] <brada> im not sure about any linux packaging
[17:04:11] <raevol> i've been helping with the openmw project, things have been coming along nicely with that

[20:04:50] --- ermo^ is now known as ermo
[20:07:16] --> itamar has joined #gemrb
[20:07:20] <itamar> hi
[20:07:34] <itamar> are gemrb and infinity engine save games compatible?
[20:14:56] <brada> sometimes
[20:15:12] <brada> its surely a goal of ours
[20:20:06] <itamar> what are the caveats?
[20:20:17] <itamar> or is it just hard to predict?
[20:20:35] * itamar needs to decide whether to use gemrb, or fight wine into submission
[20:20:46] <itamar> this is BG2, so I hear gemrb should work well
[20:32:21] <brada> it should
[20:32:28] <brada> im not sure of specific problems
[20:32:48] <brada> only i know every now and again a save doesnt work but its usually a gemrb save failing to load in original
[21:07:21] <itamar> ok
[21:40:39] --- ermo is now known as ermo^
[21:50:18] * itamar is getting crashes in the BG2 tutorial
[21:50:25] <itamar> guess I'll go fight wine
[21:54:37] <tomprince> What kind of crashes?
[21:55:27] <tomprince> Anything in the log?
[22:32:58] <itamar> well, instead of map the middle of the screen was blue
[22:33:08] <itamar> and then it coredumped when I clicked a button
[22:33:42] <tomprince> The first sounds like missing resources.
[22:34:04] <itamar> hm
[22:34:15] <itamar> possibly I should've commented out CD paths?
[22:35:12] <tomprince> Extra paths don't hurt. It sounds like missing paths, instead.
[22:36:46] <tomprince> The log should tell you what it is missing.
[22:38:25] <tomprince> I seem to recall that for GoG versions, you may need to point at a subdirectory.
[22:52:47] <brada> or you dont have a full install
[23:23:30] <-- Coriander has left IRC (Quit: Nettalk6 - www.ntalk.de)
[23:24:06] <-- raevol has left #gemrb
[23:51:07] <itamar> running with wine works
[23:51:15] <itamar> so probably just wrong path or missing path, yeah
[23:51:33] <itamar> although it did figure out I have the expansion, and let me do character creation
