[08:23:43] <fuzzie> well i should fix stuff in it myself
[08:23:55] <fuzzie> but then 'actually fix the action code argh' is on top of todo right now

[16:31:17] <Yoshimo> i traced my isssue with the bg1 intro down, where english and german are played , i install bg1, intro is fine, i install totsc, still completely german, when i install the international patch 5512, it breaks. Someone an idea why that happens and how i could fix it? ;)
[16:33:29] --> Vikthor has joined #gemrb
[17:52:12] --> Avenger has joined #gemrb
[17:52:29] <Avenger> hey lynx, this import os thing in bg2 is ugly
[17:57:01] <Yoshimo> the whole infinity engine seems to be ugly according to you guys
[17:57:51] <Avenger> actually, i meant our guiscript at this time :)
[17:58:00] <Avenger> but yes, the IE is ugly too
[18:00:19] <Yoshimo> i have tried a simple "gemrb.exe >> logfile.txt" but it seems rather empty after 30m of playing, what else could i try to get a written copy of the gemrb logwindow?
[18:02:51] <-- duckpunch has left IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer)
[18:04:10] --> duckpunch has joined #gemrb
[18:05:26] <Avenger> tried gemrb.exe 2>logfile.txt too?
[18:05:40] <Avenger> if that doesn't work, then i don't have any idea
[18:06:43] <Yoshimo> what does the additional 2 say?
[18:07:34] <Avenger> it would redirect stderr to file
[18:07:38] <Avenger> instead of stdout
[18:08:29] <Yoshimo> you saw that its a windows binary, didnt you?
[18:08:54] <Avenger> so?
[18:09:06] <Avenger> http://stackoverflow.com/questions/482678/how-to-capture-stderr-on-windows-dos
[18:10:50] <fuzzie> i note here that Avenger is a Windows developer.. :P
[18:10:53] <Avenger> if that doesn't help you need to replace cprintf with printf in the source
[18:11:21] <Yoshimo> sounded like unix, so i wasnt sure
[18:11:24] <Avenger> i work on both :D

[18:51:00] <brad_a> I'm working on waypoint rotation but my crossover trial has expired so i cannot run the windows version to check the original behavior… anybody willing to break it down for me?
[18:51:10] <brad_a> yoshimo? ;)
[18:51:46] <Yoshimo> how may i help?
[18:53:26] <brad_a> well i need to know how you rotate formations
[18:53:30] <brad_a> is it right click?
[18:53:58] <brad_a> or click and hold?
[18:55:28] <Yoshimo> ill have a look
[18:57:49] <Yoshimo> hold down the right mousebutton and turn
[18:59:24] <Yoshimo> while the button is pressed, cursor turns into a circle icon and then you can change the rotation by moving the mouse
[19:02:01] <-- Drakkar has left IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer)
[19:02:21] --> Drakkar has joined #gemrb
[19:06:17] <brad_a> 1 more question
[19:06:42] <brad_a> oes right click move your party if they are selected if you aren't intending to rotate?
[19:06:48] <brad_a> i assume so
[19:08:39] <Yoshimo> both left and right click move you to the point you clicked at
[19:08:47] <brad_a> excellent. thank you
[19:12:10] <fuzzie> but only once you let go, right?
[19:12:14] <fuzzie> that being the important bit here
[19:13:03] <brad_a> oh yeah good question
[19:13:17] <brad_a> i assume only when you let go
[19:13:27] <brad_a> thats how left click works in gemrb
[19:13:53] <brad_a> and since you are holding down to rotate it would be silly to start moving until mouse up
[19:15:24] <Yoshimo> if you release the button they start moving
[19:16:23] <fuzzie> well, the formation is also 'perfect' until you let go, i seem to remember
[19:16:37] <fuzzie> and only then does it actually do the pathing/snapping/etc
[19:16:41] <fuzzie> i'm sure this is obvious
[19:19:06] <Yoshimo> very funny in narrow places
[19:22:02] <brad_a> well I'm not too concerned about that right now
[19:22:39] <brad_a> right now i have it so you will see the actual spot which i think is superior and if different than the original i say its an improvement
[19:24:24] <fuzzie> i think i'd have to try it to see
[19:25:34] <Yoshimo> too bad that i fail hard at compiling it on windows^
[19:26:48] <brad_a> it wouldn't be hard to change to be perfect until release like the original if thats what we decide to do
[19:33:41] <Yoshimo> you can always add a new option to change between original ie and "improved version"
[19:37:10] <Yoshimo> i have a few soundfiles like error01.wav, but neither wmp nor vlc can play it, are those really wave files?
[19:54:51] <Yoshimo> http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showtopic=13087&hl=compile , is there a more recent howto for compiling gemrb on windows?
[20:20:30] --> Micru has joined #gemrb
[20:20:48] <Micru> hi
[20:22:02] <Yoshimo> hi
[20:25:37] <Micru> Czech, English, Hungarian, Italian, Korean and Spanish localizations are ready, the only one that doesn't work with Gemrb is the Korean one. Could it be fixed?
[20:26:53] <Micru> poor koreans cannot enjoy the gemrb awesomeness :-(
[20:28:37] <Yoshimo> i read about korean somwhere on the forum, whats the problem?
[20:30:36] <Micru> the characters are not displayed properly, since there is no bam for korean, instead the characters are taken straight from the operative system
[20:31:36] <Yoshimo> i read that, did you post about it already?
[20:31:47] <Micru> here are the files if you want to play with it: https://sites.google.com/site/dacuetu/Korean_PST.7z
[20:32:00] <Micru> only yesterday here in the chat, but not in the forum
[20:36:41] <Micru> what is the best option? a post in the forum, a bug in sf or to come here every night? :-P
[20:37:07] <Maighstir> if you post here once, it'll be stored in the logs
[20:37:25] <Yoshimo> id say first 2 options is a good choice, it wont get lost
[20:37:36] <Maighstir> yeah
[20:38:02] <Micru> ok, then i'll open a bug
[20:39:23] <Maighstir> I think I made a howto that incorporated GIT, so it's more recent than that, but I may need to update it and look through it before I post it publicly
[20:40:10] <Yoshimo> the problem is not git vs svn, but the things after^^ cmake doesnt like me
[20:40:34] <Yoshimo> http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showtopic=13087&view=findpost&p=189836 , that one
[20:40:35] <Maighstir> yeah, but that's the difference I remember ATM
[20:42:40] <Yoshimo> and a dead link somewhere in the list of things to download first
[20:45:56] <Yoshimo> Maighstir: id appreciate help with my cmake issue, if you have an idea about it
[20:58:43] <Maighstir> I'll look into it, just give me a little time

[22:21:51] <-- kettuz has left IRC (Quit: Leaving)
[23:35:48] <Maighstir> Yoshimo: I posted my rewritten build instructions at http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showtopic=13087&view=findpost&p=189840 and I 'm quite sure your problem is that you're missing a couple system variables; CMAKE_C_COMPILER, CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER, and CMAKE_MAKE_PROGRAM, they should point to gcc.exe, g++.exe and mingw32_make.exe, respectively.
[23:49:00] <lynxlynxlynx> those should be found automatically
[23:49:41] <lynxlynxlynx> is this for mingw? make sure mingw makefiles are being created (i think you need an extra -G parameter to switch the generator)
[23:50:52] <Maighstir> then I guess %path% is wrong
[23:51:01] <Maighstir> I always use only one -G
[23:52:02] <lynxlynxlynx> one is plenty enough
