[09:17:06] <traveler> heh, and I was wondering when next release will be... fyi, I just filled patch a for FreeBSD ports as well, waiting for maintainer review.
[09:24:22] <traveler> size increase between releases is quite noticeable imho 2MB-> 11MB... just hope it's not growing (heh) trend ;)

[09:40:43] <lynxlynxlynx> psch: any ideas? http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showtopic=25241&view=findpost&p=208549
[09:40:45] <Pepelka> GemRB 0.8.0 released! (Fork Me edition) - The Gibberlings Three Forums
[09:40:46] <Pepelka> »The GemRB team is proud to announce a new major release. It is a mix of new engine features, painstaking BG1 polishing, much improved IWD2/3ed suppo...«
[09:41:48] <lynxlynxlynx> that's an odd jump traveler, sounds like you're overpackaging (the source tarball is still between 4-5M)
[09:42:01] <fuzzie> "we removed the magic gui, check the log" is perhaps not a very helpful response :p
[09:43:08] <fuzzie> and without a config it isn't going to get far enough to get to working our where the GameDir/SaveDir are
[09:43:22] <lynxlynxlynx> abits has an existing config for sure
[09:43:52] <lynxlynxlynx> the elven one could be different though
[09:44:47] <fuzzie> well, if this is a pelya to non-pelya move then I don't think the config is in the same place, and in any case it will be wrong
[09:44:52] --> traveler has joined #gemrb
[09:45:05] <traveler> lynx: no, it really is 12 MB

[09:46:26] <lynxlynxlynx> ah, i see
[09:46:33] <lynxlynxlynx> the demo got included
[09:46:43] <traveler> i first noticed it when seeing one magnitude jump in size when generetaing checksums
[09:46:47] <traveler> ah ok
[09:47:18] <lynxlynxlynx> wasn't meant to be that way
[09:47:34] <lynxlynxlynx> i forgot we had a change in the system
[09:48:06] <traveler> well it too late now :)
[09:48:33] <traveler> or maybe errata-notice worthy
[09:48:37] <traveler> only
[09:52:35] <lynxlynxlynx> nah, there's no real harm
[09:52:53] <lynxlynxlynx> debian won't like it, but they can just delete it
[09:53:29] <fuzzie> is it non-free?
[09:55:07] <lynxlynxlynx> no, but the fonts are there without their licenses
[09:55:31] <traveler> by errata-notice i mean just adding to changelog/ release announcement some notice about accidental increase in size, that's all
[09:55:53] <lynxlynxlynx> though i did mention it in the readme
[09:56:08] <traveler> ah?
[09:56:17] <lynxlynxlynx> maybe it's good, this way more people can try it
[09:56:38] <lynxlynxlynx> you can't even move in it, but it loads :)
[09:59:22] <traveler> ok, i rest my case :)
[10:00:49] <traveler> http://sourceforge.net/projects/gemrb/files/GemRB%20Sources/GemRB%200.8.0%20Sources/ no mention in basic readme

[10:05:39] <psch> lynxlynxlynx: yeah, i have an idea; adb logcat
[10:05:56] <psch> but to get that running he needs to enable developer option on the tablet iirc
[10:06:05] <psch> and, well, install the android-sdk
[10:06:42] <psch> ill check wrt the log on disk, but he also won't see that without adb, seeing as it's not on the (emulated) sdcard
[10:07:12] <psch> we might want to log to GamePath for android, to spare users from having to use all the google dev tools
[10:08:06] <psch> tbh, im not 100% sure what folders he can or cant see when mounting as external storage, i'll have to check that
[10:11:18] <lynxlynxlynx> traveler: the one in demo/
[10:12:03] <lynxlynxlynx> psch: would alogcat do the same?
[10:13:02] <psch> i think it should, yeah
[10:14:27] <psch> hold on
[10:14:46] <psch> it's crashing for me too...
[10:14:58] <psch> guess changing the version number does things somehow?
[10:15:44] <psch> eh, no, there's something else
[10:18:19] <psch> i messed up when changing the version number
[10:19:47] <psch> while editing i copied one of the sed lines as a template, but changed a different line...
[10:20:09] <psch> and thus we don't have the correct entry point into the application in the manifest
[10:20:25] <psch> which makes android complain about not finding the right class
[10:20:47] <psch> i fixed it and started the build just now, sorry
[10:21:18] <lynxlynxlynx> cool, so it's a simpler problem :)
[10:26:32] <psch> yes, it is
[10:27:40] --> Yoshimo has joined #gemrb
[10:27:55] <psch> slightly embarassing for me, but well
[10:28:11] <psch> comes down to actually testing every change, no matter how little it seems
[10:28:15] <psch> that's a good lesson, isn't it
[10:28:27] <psch> http://filebin.ca/fFay2oBLZwd/SDLActivity-debug.apk md5 337b3047a90eb28619703707b0918c75
[10:28:41] <psch> this i actually tested after building, and it works
[10:30:41] <lynxlynxlynx> ok, it's up

[18:18:28] <Pepelka> »Hi all, new poster / user here. I an effort to make my favorite games a little more compatible with modern / high-resolution systems, I am intereste...«
[18:18:39] <lynxlynxlynx> :)
[18:20:06] <lynxlynxlynx> fuzzie: any idea why they focus on you? :P
[18:22:11] <fuzzie> i'm first in list
[18:35:21] <lynxlynxlynx> hehe
[18:35:39] <fuzzie> we should order by surname.
[18:36:05] <fuzzie> that way either Avenger or brad ends up at the top, depending on how you sort. which sounds good to me. :)
[18:40:55] <lynxlynxlynx> maybe we should just cancel it
[18:41:19] <lynxlynxlynx> the authors are visible in the revision history and this handpicked list is not really fair
[18:41:30] <fuzzie> that would also be fine with me, if everyone is in the revision history
[18:44:53] <lynxlynxlynx> i'm not sure about some of the elders, let's see
[18:46:53] <lynxlynxlynx> three are probably missing (at least 1)
[18:47:18] <fuzzie> we could just put their nicknames in, along with a note about how the rest is in git history
