[15:23:07] --> kergoth has joined #gemrb
[15:24:08] <kergoth> Quick question, is it possible to use a relative gamepath with the mac GemRB, to put the game inside the app bundle?
[15:26:28] --> brada has joined #gemrb
[15:27:17] <brada> kergoth: sure, I cant exactly remember what it needs to be relative to tho
[15:29:08] <brada> kinda curious why you would want that...
[15:29:50] <lynxlynxlynx> nice timing
[15:30:41] <fuzzie> yes, I was just getting ready to give my usual "I have no idea, maybe" answer :)
[15:39:27] <brada> well i probably spoke too soon
[15:40:14] <brada> looks like the working dir is wildly inconsistent between methods of launch and possibly even OS versions
[15:40:36] <brada> we would have to add a line of code to switch the directory to the bundle
[16:25:43] <-- brada has left IRC (Quit: brada)
[16:32:41] <kergoth> okay, thanks for the info guys. To launch multiple IE games with gemrb on the amc, i'd have to type in the differing gamepath int he preferences window that opens each time, so it makes more sense to have a duplicate gemrb instance for each game, in which case why not include hte game itself in the .app and make it self contained
[16:32:55] * kergoth grabs the source to see about adding said chdir
[16:38:07] --> brada has joined #gemrb
[17:02:23] <brada> kergoth: there are better ways to manage that
[17:02:54] <brada> I already plan on adding that functionality
[17:04:21] <brada> fairly trivial to manage a collection of configs. just haven't had the time
[17:07:50] <brada> kergoth: ther is also another option that should work now
[17:07:55] <brada> unless you have gog games..
[17:08:24] <brada> afik only BG1 from gog doesnt require a CD path
[17:09:21] <brada> anyway you can still launch gemrb from command line on mac
[17:09:27] <brada> you just have to use the open command
[17:09:33] <brada> and pass a path to the game directory
[17:09:41] <kergoth> ah, good idea
[17:09:49] <kergoth> thanks :)
[17:10:02] <brada> so: "open /path/to/gemrb /path/to/BG1
[17:10:25] <brada> that should be gemrb.app
[17:10:25] <brada> not the executable file
[17:12:32] <kergoth> yeah, that works. it's actually just 'open -a GemRB /path/to/bg1'
[17:12:35] <kergoth> cool, thanks again
[17:13:16] <brada> ah
[17:13:21] <brada> no prob
[17:15:36] <brada> hmm probably ought to enforce gametype = auto when opening that way
