[07:23:02] <Haunters> hi
[07:24:28] <Haunters> I have no idea what I am doing with gemrb. I am trying to get Torment to run, but I cannot seem to configure GemRB.CFG properly. Or at least I think thats the issue. program keeps crashing after it's own logo.

[15:10:45] <fuzzie> there is some android log in my inbox from a edrahil477 showing a missing gemrb.cfg
[15:10:53] <fuzzie> not quite sure why it's in my inbox
[15:34:05] --> fireglow has joined #gemrb
[16:06:18] <psch> fuzzie: not being able to find gemrb.cfg shouldnt happen ever with my build
[16:07:27] <lynxlynxlynx> people still use the market build
[16:10:06] <psch> that's most likely a misconfiguration on the start screen then i guess
[16:10:36] <psch> although i imagine the actually issue is "why is the email in my inbox" and not "how does the user fix it"
[16:28:42] <fuzzie> yes :P
[16:29:11] <fuzzie> can I make this someone else's problem? :)
[16:31:50] <psch> i can have a look, sure
[16:32:24] --> vampi-the-frog has joined #gemrb
[16:32:24] <-- vampi-the-frog has left IRC (Changing host)
[16:32:24] --> vampi-the-frog has joined #gemrb
[16:33:05] <fuzzie> it says 0.7.0-git i think so probably it's a really old build
[16:40:01] <psch> not neccessarily, the build on google play also calls itself 0.7.0-git
[16:40:29] <psch> i mean, it's obviously still old, yes
[16:49:57] <lynxlynxlynx> that's the annoying bit
[16:50:21] <lynxlynxlynx> it got updated twice, so the web version says 0.7.0.2 which somehow everyone interprets as 0.7.2
[16:51:12] <psch> in general, how's the transition supposed to happen when there's a similarly functional non-pelya build?
[16:51:30] <psch> as in, did pelya put it on the market himself?
[16:51:54] <fuzzie> presumably
[16:52:05] <psch> that's kinda not-so-cool, in my opinion
[16:52:11] <fuzzie> why?
[16:52:13] <psch> especially considering that he's not updating at all
[16:52:37] <fuzzie> well, i thought pelya just put it up for someone else, beholder i assume
[16:53:20] <psch> the main concern i have is migration to a in-tree build
[16:53:26] <fuzzie> you can't migrate it anyway
[16:53:45] <fuzzie> just pay for a new account, put gemrb on it, and ask pelya to remove the old one
[16:53:53] <psch> i see
[16:53:54] <fuzzie> otherwise you're just breaking people's setups
[16:54:35] <psch> oh, right
[16:54:44] <fuzzie> i mean, that's not necessarily a showstopper
[16:54:59] <fuzzie> but i don't know who signed the existing builds for example, so you'd need that key
[16:55:16] <fuzzie> i would assume beholder or pelya, but i have no clue at all about how that worked
[16:56:30] <fuzzie> distributing it with a package name of net.sourceforge.gemrb is kind of a not-so-cool move
[16:56:49] <fuzzie> but meh, no-one else was doing anything..
[16:58:07] <fuzzie> also maybe you can just get pelya to keep uploading builds
[16:58:22] <psch> that'd be a solution, yeah
[16:58:54] <fuzzie> since i see that OpenTTD was updated in January for example, so pelya can't have disappeared
[16:59:23] <fuzzie> oh, and uae4all2 was updated yesterday :P
[17:00:08] <psch> yeah i noticed that too
[17:00:13] <psch> the openttd thing at least
[17:00:28] <psch> his sf repo also has some activity end of last month as well
[17:00:48] <fuzzie> but i really expect pelya just uploads for projects which are active about their android ports, or at least ask about them
[17:03:36] --> chris___ has joined #gemrb
[17:03:48] <-- chris___ has left IRC (Client Quit)
[17:07:30] <lynxlynxlynx> well, if we wanted a new name, org.gemrb.www would be the natural one
[17:08:08] <lynxlynxlynx> but like you said, there's no migration, so better to keep to the old method, even though it's not completely in our control

[19:53:56] <lynxlynxlynx> not sure if good or bad at ducking
[20:13:16] <-- Yoshimo has left IRC (Quit: Yoshimo)
[20:26:27] <lynxlynxlynx> ok, mirroring removed
[20:26:39] <lynxlynxlynx> let's see if this is as simple as I imagined
[20:26:49] <lynxlynxlynx> got all the hooks for sf ready too
[20:49:37] <-- duckpunch has left IRC (Remote host closed the connection)
[20:57:01] --> duckpunch has joined #gemrb
[21:02:24] <lynxlynxlynx> the web frontend is not updated yet, but if you clone, you already get the latest
[21:05:21] <lynxlynxlynx> test commit fixed that, yay
[21:10:22] <lynxlynxlynx> ok, hooks in place
[21:10:53] <lynxlynxlynx> someone please try pulling or fetch+rebase
[21:15:29] <wjp> I can fetch from there
[21:19:48] <lynxlynxlynx> oh, no
[21:19:59] <lynxlynxlynx> i meant "try pulling from the existing clone"
[21:20:21] <lynxlynxlynx> so we can verify the hooks kick in
[21:20:57] <wjp> it's probably getting too late, but I have no idea what you mean by that
[21:21:17] <lynxlynxlynx> your sf git clone of gemrb
[21:21:22] <lynxlynxlynx> update it as usual
[21:21:29] <lynxlynxlynx> unless you already migrated
[21:21:53] <wjp> that one is one commit behind the github one
[21:22:03] <lynxlynxlynx> yes
[21:22:14] <lynxlynxlynx> did you get a big fat notice about the migration?
[21:22:35] <lynxlynxlynx> (if you updated after 23h today)
[21:23:49] <wjp> ...no? I'm still confused here
[21:26:12] <lynxlynxlynx> ok, that's not good
[21:27:46] <wjp> oh, I see, you tried to install client-side hooks on the server
[21:27:52] <wjp> now I understand what you meant :-)
[21:29:06] <wjp> but that can't work
[21:30:57] <Seniorita> [wiki] start http://www.gemrb.org/wiki/doku.php?id=start&rev=1365110617&do=diff
[21:32:57] <Seniorita> [wiki] download - [Main development repository] http://www.gemrb.org/wiki/doku.php?id=download&rev=1365110800&do=diff
[21:33:06] <lynxlynxlynx> yeah :)
[21:33:34] <lynxlynxlynx> got too distracted i guess
[21:33:55] <lynxlynxlynx> wanted to cover too much
[21:37:36] <lynxlynxlynx> it will now try to whine on push only
