[19:19:03] <brad_a> you used to have to download the SDL source and compile it instead of downloading the os x framework

[19:20:24] <fuzzie> but i realise how that the "NO LONGER MAINTAINED" warning is not present if you run ./configure like that thread is saying, sigh
[19:20:43] <brad_a> I tried just editing the cmake config to liknk the framework instead and got a missing symbol because developing sdl on mac os x expects the use of a source file in the project

[19:21:38] <fuzzie> because the cmake FindSDL.module checks the frameworks first
[19:21:48] <fuzzie> and this is broken, because as you say, it needs the SDLmain.m source file
[19:22:05] <brad_a> i dont know anything about cmake though. im sure linking to the framework would work if i could get it to compile with the required sdl source file

[19:25:09] <brad_a> the SDL app template actually copies the framework into the app bundle so you dont need the framework installed prior to running the application
[19:25:57] <fuzzie> usually the best way to submit this stuff is with a patch, i don't know if you're familiar with git
[19:26:03] <fuzzie> or by simply uploading a zip file with it all somewhere..

[19:27:01] <fuzzie> i don't know about lynxlynxlynx's opinion, but if it's in a self-contained directory then there's not much harm in adding it, we can always remove the unnecessary bits if we get cmake fixed up? but would need to see it first, as lynx said :)

[19:41:42] <brad_a> i built the project as requiring the 10.6 sdk because its the only one i had but i see no reason why it wouldnt work with 10.5 or possibly lower
