[07:33:21] --> Yuv422 has joined #nuvie
[08:39:49] <-- Yuv422 has left IRC (Quit: Yuv422)
[09:23:18] --> HiPhish has joined #nuvie
[09:23:32] <HiPhish> Here is the backtrace:
[09:23:33] <HiPhish> http://pastie.org/8619943
[09:24:33] <HiPhish> I copied everything, jus tin case, the backtrace starts at line 261.
[09:26:13] <HiPhish> Also, the crash due to containers within containers is now fixed, thank you.
[09:26:23] <-- HiPhish has left #nuvie
[10:32:26] --> Yuv422 has joined #nuvie
[10:51:44] <Yuv422> right_bg_x_off = x_off + Game::get_game()->get_game_width() -152;
[10:51:55] <Yuv422> unsigned char *ptr = background->get_data();
[10:51:56] <Yuv422> ptr += (bg_w-152);
[10:51:56] <Yuv422> screen->blit(right_bg_x_off, y_off,ptr, 8, 152, bg_h, bg_w, true );
[10:56:27] <Dominus> yuv any idea what is wrong with the strings in NuvieFileList.cpp that SDK 10.9 refuses to use it?
[10:56:44] <Yuv422> hey Dominus
[10:56:49] <Dominus> hi
[10:56:54] <Yuv422> do you have the error that it gives?
[10:57:15] <Dominus> sorry, it always seems malignant and me are a bit rude, always starting to speak without first greeting you :)
[10:57:30] <Dominus> http://pastie.org/8618734 that's the error
[10:58:13] <Yuv422> hehe no worries :)
[10:58:18] * Yuv422 looks
[10:58:18] <Dominus> only when I set MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET to 10.6 does it compile
[10:59:45] * Dominus got to go again, bbl
[11:10:20] <Yuv422> Dominus: could you try replacing #include <sys/types.h> with #include <time.h> in NuvieFileList.h
[11:37:57] <-- Yuv422 has left IRC (Quit: Yuv422)
[13:24:11] --> TheCycoONE has joined #nuvie
[13:34:09] <Dominus> yuv422: same error :(
[13:35:45] <wjp> it's missing a 'const' in operator< according to the error
[13:36:00] <wjp> in files/NuvieFileList.h:45
[13:36:19] <wjp> add a 'const' right before the {, if I read the error message correctly
[13:37:29] <wjp> there's an impressive amount of help in that message
[13:37:42] <wjp> this is clang I suppose?
[16:26:16] <Dominus> thanks wjp, that was it
[16:26:28] <Dominus> and yes, clang
[16:26:50] <Dominus> it gives a lot of other warnings which may be important, will do a list later
[16:27:17] <Dominus> right now this wriggling thing on my arm needs attention again
[16:40:58] <Dominus> a lot of "hidden overloaded virtual functions"
[16:42:22] <TheCycoONE> Dominus: baby?
[16:42:31] <Dominus> yeah
[16:42:48] <TheCycoONE> how old?
[16:43:08] <Dominus> 3 weeks
[16:43:40] <TheCycoONE> Cool, mine's 5 months. At 3 weeks I was sitting him on the desk beside the computer, less interferance ;)
[16:43:47] <TheCycoONE> *lying
[16:44:05] <Dominus> :)
[16:44:16] <Dominus> congrats :)
[16:44:27] <TheCycoONE> though the photographs do look a little like neglect - ... make sure there are no photographs
[16:44:39] <TheCycoONE> thanks, you too :)
[16:45:16] <Dominus> mine was hungry earlier even though generally fed up with the world at that moment. and didn't like me sitting at the computer
[16:47:00] <TheCycoONE> How long are you off work?
[16:47:29] <Dominus> I'm a full time home worker :)
[16:49:53] <TheCycoONE> Ahh, well it's good to leave the computer frequently anyway. Lots of little walks now
[16:51:21] <TheCycoONE> Also it's pretty crazy how fast they change - which lots of people have probably told you already
[16:51:49] <Dominus> TheCycoONE: it's my third :)
[16:52:02] <TheCycoONE> Ah, you're a seasoned pro!
[16:52:20] <TheCycoONE> Then you can tell me stuff ;)
[16:52:23] <Dominus> :)
[16:52:48] <TheCycoONE> Am I keeping you from settling him?
[16:54:06] <Dominus> there are great books that tell you almost exactly when they go through another phase - it's almost eerie "he's totally different now und unbalanced and crying!" -> look at the book -> yep, it's exactly week XY and new phase...
[16:54:23] <Dominus> that's a bit reassuring, while the crying baby drives you insane...
[16:55:05] <TheCycoONE> yeah, the latest is high piched scretching
[16:55:14] <TheCycoONE> *pitched
[16:55:51] <TheCycoONE> which again the books/sites say is normal as he finds his voice. A bit hard on the ears though
[16:56:24] <Dominus> and no, right now I have his big brother watching youtube on my lap...
[16:56:40] <Dominus> thanbkfully I have two monitors...
[16:56:44] <TheCycoONE> :)
[16:57:03] <TheCycoONE> how old is the oldest?
[16:57:29] <Dominus> 8 years
[16:57:39] <Dominus> the other is almost three
[17:01:05] <Dominus> but the older doesn't liv with me, ex gf...
[17:07:47] <TheCycoONE> ah
[17:07:54] <TheCycoONE> sorry - awhile ago I guess
[17:32:00] <Dominus> nothing to be sorry about ;)
[17:32:15] <Dominus> it was me who left her ;)
[17:33:21] <Dominus> and my daughter is here every weekend. which under the circumstances is quite good
[17:44:53] <TheCycoONE> spiffy
[17:54:01] --> HiPhish has joined #nuvie
[18:18:33] <HiPhish> Still waiting for WtF Dragon to put up the poll, so I've started the player sprites in the meantime. First one is Dupre.
[18:25:03] <-- HiPhish has left #nuvie
[18:48:13] <Dominus> wjp, can I commit this const fix? or is there something else to do?
[18:48:42] <Dominus> http://pastie.org/8621401 <- a lot of Clang warnings, a lot of them are doubled
[18:49:00] <Dominus> I suppose fixing those would make sense at some point...
[18:52:01] <wjp> the const fix is fine to commit as-is
[18:53:10] <Dominus> thanks, will do later

[20:02:29] <Malignant_Manor> Thanks Erik, that worked
[20:03:36] <Yuv422> Hi Malignant_Manor
[20:03:38] <Yuv422> cool
[20:03:44] <Malignant_Manor> Hello
[20:04:07] <Malignant_Manor> Jaeson wrote : Hey Malignant Manor can this play pre-recoded music, similar to how the music works in Exult? As in, if someone did a recording of the original music, with an actual Roland MT-32, the players could also hear that music when playing?
[20:04:23] <Malignant_Manor> Jaesun not Jaeson
[20:05:02] <Yuv422> that would be nice
[20:06:08] <Yuv422> probably not a high priority at the moment though
[20:06:14] <Yuv422> for me at least
[20:07:20] --> HiPhish has joined #nuvie
[20:09:54] <Yuv422> hi HiPhish
[20:09:59] <HiPhish> Hi
[20:10:10] <HiPhish> Did the backtrace reveal anything useful?
[20:10:41] <Malignant_Manor> It is earlier in the logs Eric and probably something you need to look at.
[20:11:14] * Yuv422 looks
[20:15:00] <Malignant_Manor> I can fix full_map background not drawing bychange the rendering order but will need to change screen->clear(area.x,area.y,area.w,area.h,NULL); in background to exclude the map window. I probably shouldn't screen->clear the background unless it is a full_redraw or update_display.
[20:25:17] <Yuv422> HiPhish: It looks like that bug is caused by mapwindow trying to copy a larger screen area than is available
[20:25:46] <Yuv422> when displaying the moongate fade in
[20:28:48] <Malignant_Manor> game size, screen size, and if using fullscreen map would probably be good to have for testing, HiPhish
[20:30:05] <HiPhish> I have a 4x scale factor and I didn't change anything else.
[20:31:03] <Yuv422> full map mode is probably still going to have the problem even at standard res
[20:33:52] <Yuv422> HiPhish: The backtrace was very helpful. Thanks
[20:35:17] <HiPhish> No problem. I read that 1.4 has problems with the Orb crashing, so I thought I was experiencing a known issue. Otherwise i would have posted this earlier
[20:46:14] <Malignant_Manor> I know my map window offset is wrong at resolutions that are cannot be divided by 16 without a remainder.
[20:47:35] <Malignant_Manor> (but that is a separate issue)
[20:49:18] <Malignant_Manor> (Y offset has the issue too. I would like that fixed)
[20:53:39] <-- HiPhish has left IRC (Quit: Leaving.)
[21:22:44] --> HiPhish has joined #nuvie
[21:25:13] <Malignant_Manor> SE already has a nice border for the new modes. The command bar will need to display the background section that houses it.
[21:25:38] <Malignant_Manor> MD has those huge, hideous levers.
[21:26:06] <Dominus> yeah, awful
[21:26:29] <Malignant_Manor> They are part of the background too
[21:26:47] <Malignant_Manor> and I don't know where the switched lever pictures are.
[21:27:37] <Malignant_Manor> The border seems easily doable though.
[21:27:58] <Malignant_Manor> MD also has the strip at the top
[21:32:50] <-- HiPhish has left IRC (Quit: Leaving.)
[21:42:20] <Yuv422> gotta go now

[21:42:28] <Dominus> bye
[21:42:36] <Malignant_Manor> Both too late
[21:42:52] <Dominus> both always too rude and too late...

[23:37:23] <Yuv422> negative x/y offsets play havoc with the effect overlays
[23:37:34] <Yuv422> I'll have to have a think about how to fix that
