[02:05:24] --> Dominus has joined #nuvie
[04:29:10] <-- monochrome has left IRC (Ping timeout: 260 seconds)
[09:21:12] <SHODAN> Quas Corp
[10:46:56] --> Yuv422 has joined #nuvie
[11:50:54] <Dominus> ERIC!!!!
[11:51:07] <Dominus> Yuv422: hello, how are you?
[11:51:17] <Yuv422> Hey Dominus
[11:51:20] <Yuv422> I’m good
[11:51:23] <Dominus> I was keeping a lookout for you :)
[11:51:28] <Yuv422> hehe
[11:51:53] <Yuv422> I rebooted my mac a while back and forgot to load up my irc client
[11:52:07] <Dominus> I'm wondering, how did you make the Nuvie xcode project file?
[11:52:09] <Yuv422> normally it just runs in the background
[11:52:18] <Yuv422> Hmm
[11:52:25] <Yuv422> I haven’t looked at that in years
[11:52:36] <Dominus> I *think* you mentioned something that it was an export option of Eclipse
[11:52:38] <Yuv422> I do all my dev in Clion these days
[11:53:06] <Yuv422> I used to develop in xcode
[11:53:12] <Yuv422> but haven’t for many years
[11:53:24] <Dominus> maybe it's from that. I thought you were using Eclipse
[11:53:43] <Yuv422> yeah I went from xcode to eclipse to clion
[11:54:07] <Dominus> ah, so I wasn't completely mistaken :)
[11:54:24] <Dominus> I dreamed about trying my hands on getting Nuvie to compile for iOS but the Xcdoe project is giving me headaches
[11:54:33] <Yuv422> lol
[11:54:43] <Dominus> something something symbols already something something :)
[11:55:10] <Yuv422> maybe start with the output from the automake
[11:55:14] <Yuv422> config.h
[11:55:17] <Dominus> I tried adding all the headers and files and getting rid of the few we no longer have but of course the first roadblock brought me down :)
[11:55:23] <Yuv422> and work out the settings for xcode from that
[11:56:17] <Dominus> yeah, gonna look into it again. I hoped it was an export of Eclipse so I could spare me the trouble
[11:56:38] <Yuv422> you might also look at the cmake config
[11:56:43] <Yuv422> it’s pretty simple
[11:57:15] <Dominus> because Exult build for iOS is not that difficult after all. Exult needed a shortcutbar but U6 already has that :)
[11:58:45] <Yuv422> :)
[11:58:51] <Dominus> the heavy work was done by the port to SDL2
[11:59:08] <Yuv422> I’m sure you’d make a few people very happy if you ported it to iOS
[12:00:06] <Dominus> definitely
[12:00:31] <Yuv422> someone whos name starts with W and has a T in the middle and ends with F ;-)
[12:00:43] <Dominus> yes, him especially
[12:01:05] <Dominus> he would probably buy a used ipad if he could play U6 on it :)
[12:01:14] <Yuv422> If you need a hand I can help
[12:01:35] <Yuv422> but I don’t have a very current mac
[12:01:44] <Yuv422> and no iOS devices ;-)
[12:02:07] <Dominus> only if you have time but getting the old xcode project to compile would be the biggest help
[12:03:11] <Yuv422> lol my xcode app is dated 2 Apr 2011
[12:03:52] <Yuv422> assuming it is still installed in /Developer/Applications
[12:04:06] <Dominus> he he
[12:04:14] <Dominus> that is a bit old :)
[12:04:50] <Dominus> but then again, if it builds on your OS X version it will likely build on a newer Xcode/OS X combo
[12:05:52] <Yuv422> Doh I can’t even get the latest version
[12:06:00] <Yuv422> I’m on 10.11.6
[12:06:08] <Yuv422> it requires 10.12.x
[12:07:16] <Dominus> yes, that is the strange Xcode/OS X policy of Apple
[12:07:49] <Dominus> but I can get you the latest xcode that runs on 10.11 via my developer license
[12:08:15] <Yuv422> I think I might have a later version
[12:08:21] <Yuv422> I think it’s in /Applications now
[12:08:41] <Yuv422> I have to quit itunes to install xcode
[12:09:30] <Dominus> yes, that's been a requirement for a while now
[12:10:33] <Yuv422> ok I have Version 7.3.1 (7D1014)
[12:11:07] <Dominus> current is 9.x but it really doesn't matter, I think
[12:12:16] <Dominus> it's only an issue when you want to use the App Store and newest SDKs - these require more up to date versions.
[12:15:15] <Yuv422> Hmm not off tot a good start
[12:15:26] <Yuv422> I tried to open the existing Nuvie project
[12:15:38] <Yuv422> and xcode just sliently quits
[12:18:02] <Yuv422> opening the codeproj directory seemed to work
[12:26:17] <-- Lightkey has left IRC (Ping timeout: 265 seconds)
[12:26:29] <Yuv422> I’m off to bed now
[12:26:31] <Yuv422> cya
[12:27:05] <Dominus> ok, good nighgt
[12:27:40] <Yuv422> I tried to build the project and I get this error
[12:27:42] <Yuv422> “The run destination My Mac is not valid for Running the scheme 'Nuvie’.”
[12:28:08] <Dominus> I have a patch that makes it compile but fails in the final linking stage with duplicate symbols
[12:28:47] <Dominus> https://www.dropbox.com/s/wx5aq2izp0xibnq/nuviexcode.diff?dl=0
[12:28:48] <Yuv422> I think there might be some unused files laying around
[12:29:34] <Dominus> your compile problem is because the 10.5 SDK was hardcoded in the project file
[12:29:45] <Yuv422> ah k
[12:29:54] <Yuv422> maybe I should start fresh
[12:30:33] <Yuv422> I’d take a look at what is getting compiled in the cmake or autoconf versions
[12:30:44] <Yuv422> and make sure you’re matching it with xcode
[12:31:05] <Yuv422> or search the files to see if you can find the dup symbols
[12:31:25] <Yuv422> I’m off now
[12:31:26] <Yuv422> cya
[12:31:34] <-- Yuv422 has left IRC (Quit: Yuv422)
[12:31:36] <Dominus> thanks nighty night
[12:38:31] --> Lightkey has joined #nuvie
[13:59:27] <-- TheCycoONE has left IRC (Ping timeout: 248 seconds)
[14:00:19] --> TheCycoONE has joined #nuvie
[14:16:26] --> robert_ has joined #nuvie
[14:16:41] <robert_> so Nuvie keeps not staying open.
[14:17:00] <robert_> (I'm new, by the way. :D)
[14:21:06] <robert_> oh, it might be related to issue 34
[20:49:55] <-- ChanServ has left IRC (shutting down)
[20:59:10] --> ChanServ has joined #nuvie
