[01:23:02] <-- SB-X has left IRC (sterling.freenode.net irc.freenode.net)
[01:23:20] --> SB-X has joined #nuvie
[04:47:48] --- servus_ is now known as servus
[05:58:56] <-- SB-X has left IRC (Read error: 104 (Connection reset by peer))
[06:43:32] --> Quester has joined #nuvie
[06:44:41] <-- Quester has left IRC (Client Quit)
[07:58:46] --> Yuv422 has joined #nuvie
[08:11:06] <luteijn> hi.
[08:13:27] <Yuv422> hi luteijn
[08:13:31] <Yuv422> How's things?
[08:14:07] <luteijn> Ok. Messing with the stylesheet of Nuvieki ;) starting too look a bit like the website now.
[08:15:49] <Yuv422> I think the width/height on the border might be slightly too large
[08:15:53] <Yuv422> in the nuvieki
[08:16:06] <Yuv422> I'm getting a small amount of repeat.
[08:17:15] <Yuv422> in safari that is
[08:17:18] <servus> What's a nuvieki?
[08:18:06] <Yuv422> a nuvie wiki
[08:18:10] <servus> (Side note: You might want to shuffle the screenshots to show a full working GUI on the home page, makes the project look closer to its current state:)
[08:18:11] <Yuv422> :-)
[08:18:35] <Yuv422> yeah some of those screenshots are looking a bit dated now
[08:18:35] <servus> Where?
[08:18:47] <Yuv422> http://luteijn.xs4all.nl/nuvieki/Nuvie
[08:18:51] <luteijn> I'm mostly testing it in firefox (and a little in iexplorer for backwards compatibility), already looks better in firefox than the website..
[08:19:07] <luteijn> but any 'help' on getting it to look even better is welcome..
[08:20:14] * Yuv422 looks in firefox
[08:20:21] <Yuv422> yeah it looks good
[08:20:33] <servus> Looks not-so-good in Konqueror :)
[08:20:52] <Yuv422> konqueror == safari I guess
[08:21:11] <servus> Not so much anymore.
[08:21:18] * servus checks Safari
[08:21:24] <luteijn> how does the nuvie website look on those?
[08:22:17] <servus> Broken in different ways on Safari - too much border on the parchment edges.
[08:23:03] <servus> http://sammatthews.com/nuvieski.jpg
[08:23:46] <Yuv422> do you have any cellpadding or spacing in your border styles?
[08:24:22] <luteijn> padding is set to 0.
[08:24:31] <servus> http://sammatthews.com/safarinuvie.jpg
[08:25:53] <luteijn> padding=0 & width and hight are set to 13x9 for the corners, nothing set for the 'sides', maybe I'll set them to padding 0 too..
[08:27:00] <servus> On the table itself, set border-collapse:collapse;
[08:27:27] <servus> If you do it in the next minute, I'll even check before I go to bed *grin*
[08:27:47] <luteijn> I set the padding to 0 for the sides to 0, did that help? I'll set the collapse property now..
[08:29:04] <luteijn> border collapse is now on for the 'outer' table, but not for the inner table (to see if there's any difference.)
[08:31:03] <servus> Nope, still looks bad. I can help you debug it later today, maybe, if I'm not too busy with very very fun things, which I'm apt to be :) Night!
[08:31:14] <luteijn> goodnight ;)
[08:37:07] <-- Yuv422 has left IRC (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[12:40:34] --> Yuv422 has joined #nuvie
[13:10:39] <-- Kirben has left IRC (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[13:11:49] <luteijn> (reading some of the old irc logs.. interesting to see some things coming back now and then...
[13:13:52] <Yuv422> ?
[13:14:47] <luteijn> E.g. In July 2004 you discussed getting the screenshots archived/sorted in categories..
[13:15:10] <Yuv422> ah yes
[13:23:22] <luteijn> small bug in the message scroll; it doesn't scroll when the last line fits exactly, but the cursor needs to twirl on the next line. Ariana say "Hi! Did you get permission from my parents to !orrow the rune?" where ! is the ankh.
[13:26:15] <luteijn> (same when entering a wish at a fountain, !ish for: request
[13:28:24] <luteijn> (and backspacing out a long word, e.g. 'requesting', makes the cursor disappear, until you type something again, if you go over the boundary. also scrolls down only when typing again..) I'll see if this is easy to fix..
[13:39:02] <luteijn> when using the orb of the moons from a level other than 0, it looks like the high byte of the destination gets clobbered. probably 'map wrapping' code trying to wrap based on the wrong 'z' coordinate. checking.
[13:39:40] <-- Yuv422 has left IRC (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[13:41:05] --> Yuv422 has joined #nuvie
[13:47:28] <luteijn> (The above also affects exiting dungeons..)
[13:51:29] <luteijn> actors/Actor.cpp's move used current z instead of new_z for wrapping in 'move'. fixed now.
[14:03:24] <-- Yuv422 has left IRC (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[14:05:35] --> Yuv422 has joined #nuvie
[14:22:53] <Yuv422> ah k
[14:27:14] <luteijn> did thrown weapons (boomerang, throwing axe etc) already work or always been broken?
[14:28:06] <Yuv422> I don't think they worked before
[14:28:57] <luteijn> ok, didn't notice it until just now..
[14:44:52] <-- Yuv422 has left IRC (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[14:46:05] --> Yuv422 has joined #nuvie
[14:48:37] <Yuv422> time for bed
[14:48:38] <Yuv422> cya
[14:48:43] <luteijn> g'night
[14:48:52] <-- Yuv422 has left IRC (Client Quit)
[15:03:25] --> SB-X has joined #nuvie
[15:04:53] <SB-X> damn my irc has been acting up recently
[15:06:27] <SB-X> i was disconnected two hours before Yuv422 was joined #nuvie today and reconnected right after he left :p
[15:06:42] <SB-X> had joined #nuvie*
[15:07:15] <SB-X> i introduced that msgscroll bug when fixing another
[15:07:18] <luteijn> :(
[15:08:14] <luteijn> I had a quick look, you ought to not just set x to 0 when the cursor fals just of scroll, if the scroll is full, but I guess by that time it's too late to scroll the scroll up a line?
[15:09:12] <SB-X> yeah, better hide the cursor
[15:09:31] <luteijn> what does the original do?
[15:10:11] <SB-X> i'll check
[15:11:48] <SB-X> Afaik nuvie used to do the right thing, until I added some line-concatenation so it wouldnt wrap when not necessary, and it started drawing the ankh over the right border. I fixed that by dropping the ankh to the next line and returning it to the first column. :)
[15:36:12] <SB-X> rune -> "I already gave it to you, silly. I hope you can figure out how to use it."
[15:38:04] <SB-X> how do you get the ankh to wrap on Wish for:
[15:38:05] <SB-X> ?
[15:38:16] <SB-X> just by entering characters?
[15:39:09] <SB-X> yes i see
[15:39:44] <SB-X> before fixing it I would look at the recent CVS history to make sure I (or you if you fix it) don't just revert my previous changes :)
[15:40:10] <SB-X> because i dont remember exactly what they were and might do that accidentally
[15:40:26] <SB-X> a new fix needs to be added
[16:44:33] <jargon> SB-X?
[16:45:13] <jargon> SB-X whom are you speaking with?
[16:52:21] * servus knows Lua and has integrated it with games before.
[17:23:10] <luteijn> SB-X was probably speaking to the logs, so the rest of us can catch up whenever we're not afk/doing something else.
[17:32:24] <SB-X> speaking to luteijn
[17:33:07] <SB-X> servus: do you have any good advice?
[17:34:54] <servus> Lua isn't super-flexible, or super-easy to integrate with, but it's "good" on both accounts. It could definitely do what you're describing, would take a day or so to integrate, and would probably be a good choice for it. On my next similar project, I'm going to give JavaScript a try.
[17:35:28] <servus> The language itself is dog-simple. Mostly procedural with some Smalltalk-like aspects.
[17:36:31] <luteijn> I expect it'll be similar to tcl. Going for walk with my son. currently working on integrating blue moongates to the weather. already got it to load the positions from objlist.
[18:06:55] <SB-X> how do you edit the frame/headers around pages on Nuvieki?
[18:07:06] <SB-X> the menu bar I mean
[18:44:28] <luteijn> you can add extra once via your userprofile (like bookmarks/favorites). Also I can adjust the configuration to put different ones there via config file.
[18:44:47] <luteijn> any specific wishes/demands?
[18:47:55] <luteijn> (from inside the wiki you can only change things that are on the 'old paper' part of the page.
[19:26:29] <-- jargon has left IRC (Connection timed out)
[22:13:53] --> Kirben has joined #nuvie
