[23:15:25] * Pupnik notes the regulars and salutes
[23:48:03] <SB-X> Hello Pupnik.
[23:48:12] <SB-X> Want to port Nuvie to the Nokia? :)
[23:49:00] <Pupnik> looking at it
[23:49:19] <SB-X> i want to start working on Nuvie again, just havn't got around to it
[23:49:19] <Pupnik> doesn't look finished enough though
[23:49:29] <SB-X> nope
[23:49:31] <Pupnik> ah you are one of the prime instigators? :)
[23:49:35] <SB-X> no problem
[23:50:02] <Pupnik> well it compiles and runs fine in the scratchbox environment
[23:50:06] <SB-X> i guess, although the main developer is Eric Fry, he's not been here in a while
[23:50:12] <SB-X> cool
[23:50:20] <SB-X> and I havn't worked on Nuvie in a while either, I just idle here :P
[23:50:30] <SB-X> busy playing another game right now
[23:50:39] <Pupnik> what game?
[23:50:53] <SB-X> the sims 2
[23:51:07] <Pupnik> k i'll get back to work on exult 770
[23:51:16] <SB-X> actually I just started on it, a friend showed it to me, don't know if I'll like it
[23:51:25] <SB-X> I was busy playing GTA San Andreas the other day
[23:51:25] <SB-X> heh
[23:51:27] <SB-X> ok
[23:51:39] <Pupnik> gotta keep the momentum up
[23:51:51] <SB-X> true
[23:52:13] <SB-X> we plan to have an onscreen menu for Nuvie, for the GP2X version at least
[23:52:31] <SB-X> i should say a context menu, U6 already had a menu
[23:52:41] <SB-X> but since we'll have a fullscreen map view, that menu won't be visible
[23:52:54] <Pupnik> nice. intel is coming out with 4 new linux-based tablet pcs by the way
[23:53:08] <Pupnik> this 800x480 + linux based device is going to take off (i hope)
[23:53:23] <SB-X> that's interesting... what got them doing that?
[23:53:55] <Pupnik> maybe they liked the nokias. the OS is almost a clone - same windowmanager etc
[23:54:32] <Pupnik> main thing is to get them out at a low price point, generate enough sales to get enough momentum to get people writing apps seriously
[23:54:42] <Pupnik> i've got 14 ports active now
[23:55:33] <Pupnik> nothing against zaurus and openembedded etc... i'm all for OS options in handhelds
[23:56:45] <SB-X> ah k, i dont really know anything about the OS on either
[23:56:51] <SB-X> since I don't have either computer
[23:57:04] <Pupnik> SB-X, what are the 3 most important commands in Exult to map to buttons?
[23:57:15] <Pupnik> besides enter key and esc for menu
[23:57:25] <Pupnik> i haven't had time to playtest much
[23:57:52] <SB-X> I havn't played U7 in a while either. :p
[23:57:56] <SB-X> attack is one
[23:57:59] <SB-X> c
[23:58:03] <Pupnik> yeah c combat mode
[23:58:16] <SB-X> inventory and zstats?
[23:58:31] <Pupnik> spellbook / food / abacus / inventory / keyring/keys / map / lockpicks ?
[23:58:50] <SB-X> oh, i didnt even remember all of them... perhaps you could add a spellbook icon?
[23:58:53] <SB-X> abacus isnt very important
[23:59:03] <SB-X> the map can be used from inventory
[23:59:19] <SB-X> keyring is used automatically in exult
[23:59:25] <Pupnik> oh nice
[23:59:51] <SB-X> [f]ood would be most important of those, but its a convenience feature added in SI (but works in both SI&BG in Exult)
