[22:26:47] --> dsl1480 has joined #pentagram
[22:26:56] <dsl1480> hello:D
[22:27:13] <dsl1480> I am going to idle now.. :/
[22:28:23] <wjp> impatient, are we? :-)
[22:29:40] <dsl1480> Yes.. :/
[22:30:03] <dsl1480> I guess you're busy with all that programming and stuff:D
[22:30:28] <wjp> hm, yes, well, not at the moment ;-)
[22:30:48] <dsl1480> hehe, OK:D are you chatting with your friends?
[22:34:40] <sbx> I really like the Ghost In the Shell: SAC opening. Once again I didn't realize part of the lyrics were in English.
[22:35:00] <dsl1480> is it a game?
[22:35:20] <wjp> no
[22:35:24] <dsl1480> anime film?
[22:35:28] <wjp> series
[22:35:34] <dsl1480> oh:D
[22:35:47] <dsl1480> what's it about?:D
[22:36:19] <wjp> hm, I haven't seen it :-)
[22:36:46] <dsl1480> hehe
[22:37:58] <wjp> sbx: it's often hard to tell when japanese are speaking/singing in english :-)
[22:38:11] <wjp> (and hard to understand once you know... :-) )
[22:38:17] <dsl1480> hehe
[22:40:41] <sbx> yeah
[22:41:03] <wjp> hm, "inner universe" ?
[22:41:12] <sbx> yeah, I found a lyrics page :)
[22:41:20] <sbx> its russian or something
[22:41:34] <dsl1480> is the movie/series dubbed?
[22:41:50] <dsl1480> are there english subtitles in it?
[22:41:57] <sbx> yeah it's about, what Sector 9 does after the movies
[22:42:16] <dsl1480> right:D
[22:43:04] --- dsl1480 is now known as LO_oL
[22:43:19] <sbx> but I never saw the movies :P
[22:43:40] <wjp> I've seen the original one a while back; never saw innocence, though
[22:43:59] <LO_oL> hm
[22:50:16] <-- LO_oL has left IRC (Remote closed the connection)
[23:00:42] --> socra has joined #pentagram
[23:01:11] <socra> test
[23:01:28] <wjp> anything in particular you're testing? :-)
[23:01:52] <socra> first time on irc
[23:02:25] <wjp> ah, well, it's usually common to say "hi" or something instead of "test" when walking into a channel, but otherwise it seems to be working ;-)
[23:02:25] <socra> looking for some help w/ getting pentagram working
[23:02:41] <socra> oops, i'll try again then
[23:02:43] <socra> hi
[23:02:46] <wjp> great ;-)
[23:02:47] <wjp> hi
[23:02:59] <wjp> what's the problem?
[23:03:16] <socra> i get a visual c++ runtime library error
[23:03:25] <wjp> assertion failed?
[23:03:48] <socra> yup, file games/Game.cpp "createGame: invalid game" && false
[23:05:13] <wjp> pentagram should've created stdout.txt and stderr.txt files containing some status logs
[23:05:39] <socra> here is stderr.txt
[23:05:45] <socra> Problem mounting virtual path "@data": directory not found: c:\uc\ultima8\data\
[23:05:59] <socra> Problem mounting virtual path "@detect": directory not found: c:\uc\ultima8\
[23:06:08] <socra> Problem mounting virtual path "@detect": directory not found: c:\uc\ultima8\
[23:06:13] <socra> Problem mounting virtual path "@u8": directory not found: c:\uc\ultima8\
[23:06:33] <wjp> hm, I think I remember a problem with trailing backslashes on windows
[23:06:50] <wjp> try removing those in the config file
[23:06:59] <socra> let's see.
[23:08:02] <socra> holy cow, i should have thought of that. seems to be working like a charm. you are awesome
[23:08:27] <wjp> we should get that bug fixed sometime...
[23:09:03] <socra> rather trivial though
[23:10:47] <socra> is there a way to turn off the scrolling text at the top of the screen?
[23:11:23] <wjp> no, not yet
[23:11:28] <socra> ok
[23:12:15] <wjp> having it is kind of useful for development, so for now we're keeping it in by default; it'll probably become invisible at some point
[23:12:38] <socra> that makes sense
[23:13:24] <wjp> hm, annoying thing about windows paths is that sometimes they do need a trailing backslash ( 'C:\' ) and sometimes they don't ( 'D:\u8' )... ah well
[23:13:43] <wjp> I see the trick we used in exult is adding a period at the end of the path if it ends in a \
[23:14:10] <socra> exult is a great piece of software
[23:14:30] <socra> is there any speed difference running pentagram in windows vs linux?
[23:15:09] <wjp> hard to say since I never ran it on windows :-)
[23:15:39] <wjp> I don't think there'd be a significant difference, though
[23:21:29] <socra> Is there a way to get the characters and onscreen text to change size (larger or smaller). I have changed the resolutions, but the only change is amount of real estate shown
[23:22:07] <wjp> scaling'll be implemented 'soon'
[23:22:22] <socra> okay
[23:22:39] <socra> thanks for all of your help. keep up the great work!
[23:22:51] <wjp> you're welcome :-)
