[12:44:06] <Gabriel_> Hello. Is there any development ongoing on Pentagram, or is it considered a finished project? There is (or there was) any plans to develop a modding tool for Ultima 8, like a map editor and script compiler, evolving Pentagram to a generic game engine and editor? Thank you.

[12:51:18] <Gabriel_> I have worked on a Usecode decompiler during the last two days, just out of curiosity. Is there any point on continuing such a work? (Probably meaning: is there any potential user for it nowadays?)

[12:55:48] <wjp> but it's hard to say
[12:56:12] <wjp> as with most of these things, I'd say the important thing is if you yourself enjoy working on it :-)
[13:03:04] <Gabriel_> I will work on it next days, and check how it progresses. I aim to generate and output that is C / C++ compatible (compilable), so that we could compile the script against an API header provided by Pentagram (consisting mostly of intrinsic functions prototypes). The script could be than loaded as a dynamic library, and it would remove all limitations of Usecode.

[13:04:21] <wjp> Did you give any thought to the multi-threaded aspects of the language?
[13:04:57] <Gabriel_> Not yet.
[13:07:06] <Gabriel_> Is there any incompatibility of this implementation with the multi-threading? I don't know how it is implemented.
[13:09:02] <wjp> It's probably not straightforward to map to C or C++
[13:09:28] <wjp> It will probably require some thought
[13:10:22] <wjp> I'd have to read up on it again to say much more
