[08:49:08] <hoxu> &wuu darj
[08:49:13] <hoxu> whoops :o
[08:49:30] <-- hoxu has left #pentagram ("nevermind, I guess this is wrong network")
[10:23:40] --> wjp has joined #pentagram
[10:23:40] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to wjp
[10:36:37] --- wjp is now known as wjp|busy
[12:17:29] --> Colourless has joined #Pentagram
[12:17:30] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Colourless
[13:27:28] <wjp|busy> hi
[14:14:30] * DarkeZzz hmms... Colourless!=0 && Colourless->poke();?
[14:19:25] * wjp|busy watches DarkeZzz segfault despite his precautions
[14:20:52] <DarkeZzz> Hmm... probably more elegant to do Darke->poke(Colourless); anyway...
[14:21:32] <DarkeZzz> Though even that doesn't seem to be working. *pout*
[14:22:33] <DarkeZzz> Maybe... Darke->waveThreateningly(Darke->getInvenItem("Cattle Prod"), Colourless);?
[14:26:50] <wjp|busy> either he's not impressed or he's too scared to talk
[14:28:40] <DarkeZzz> One thing that regularly bugs me about C++, is 'not', it never really seems to be able to be put in the right place to read correctly most of the time. Instead of doing stuff like while(Colourless->!away()) you have to write it as while(!Colourless->away()) which doesn't read nicely, or else create an already notted function like while(Colourless->notAway()).
[14:30:22] <wjp|busy> while(Colourless->away() == false)? :-)
[14:31:27] <DarkeZzz> Sure. But when was the last time you said a phrase similar to "While Colourless is away is false" in english? *grin*
[14:31:50] <DarkeZzz> Though no doubt there's languages out there where that would be almost a natural construct. *grin*
[14:32:29] <wjp|busy> about half a minute ago ;-)
[14:35:20] <DarkeZzz> On the grand scale of things, it's not something that can particularly be griped about, given as soon as you add casts into the mix, it's almost instantaneously non-readable anyway. *grin* dynamic_cast<ZapperThingie*>(Darke->getInvenItem("Cattle Prod"))->zap(Colourless); anyone?
[14:39:22] * DarkeZzz notes that *any* accusations that he initiated this conversation merely to poke, prod, zap, and otherwise assault Colourless's person, would be almost *entirely* untrue.
[14:39:38] * DarkeZzz coughs, innocently.
[14:55:07] <Colourless> darke you realize while your code isn't working?
[14:55:28] <Colourless> Darke->getInvenItem("Cattle Prod") is returning 0
[14:56:31] <DarkeZzz> Dagnabbit! I thought I had one around here somewhere!
[14:59:41] <Colourless> dynamic_cast<Fire*>(Colourless->useBreath())->burn(Darke);
[15:01:26] <Colourless> you should have done Darke->findItem("Cattle Prod", world) if you absolutely had to find an item somewhere in the world
[15:02:53] <Colourless> to reduce the search size you might also want to change world to world->getCountry("Australia")->getState("Queensland")->getCity("Brisbane")
[15:04:33] <wjp|busy> lol
[15:05:40] <wjp|busy> bbl
[15:05:42] <-- wjp|busy has left IRC ("bbl")
[15:13:20] * DarkeZzz hmms... and doesn't think he lost his cattle prod *that* badly...
[15:15:07] <Colourless> you're no fun... and you started this
[15:20:16] <DarkeZzz> Hmm... yup. Quite a while ago. Between then and now awakeBunny became sleepyBunny. *grin*
[15:26:59] --> wjp has joined #pentagram
[15:26:59] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to wjp
[15:27:25] <Colourless> wb
[15:28:04] <wjp> thanks
[15:38:21] <wjp> I think I'll go implement the paperdoll gump
[15:40:33] <Colourless> hint: the shapes to use for the items are purely the just the item's normal shape, with 1 added to the framenum
[15:40:38] <wjp> yes
[15:40:55] <wjp> except for the backpack, which is hard"coded"
[15:41:19] <Colourless> 'maybe'
[15:41:26] <Colourless> i think there is still a shape 'somewhere' for it
[15:41:37] <Colourless> might be in with the gump shapes
[15:41:50] <Colourless> would be a 'bit' hard to do click detection
[15:45:19] <wjp> hm, don't see it in the gumps
[15:48:23] <Colourless> hmm, neither do it. must have been mistaken
[15:48:37] <Colourless> i guess a hardcoded rect or something would probably need to be added for the backpack
[15:56:32] <-- Kirben has left IRC (Read error: 104 (Connection reset by peer))
[16:45:41] <-- Colourless has left IRC ("bbl")
[18:11:58] --> Dominus has joined #pentagram
[18:12:30] <Dominus> hey ho
[18:12:36] <Dominus> so, when can you save?
[18:13:39] <Dominus> it's nice to have music back with pentagram
[18:14:39] <wjp> hi
[18:23:48] <wjp> yeah, music is very nice :-)
[18:24:19] <Dominus> now when are sfx coming?
[18:24:21] <Dominus> :-)
[18:24:33] <wjp> impatient... tsk tsk ;-)
[18:25:36] <Dominus> well it is already calling for sfx.
[18:25:49] <wjp> yes... at length
[18:25:56] <Dominus> it's just that you get reminded every time :-)
[18:27:25] <Dominus> being offline for about twoo weeks was interesting. I got about 530 emails and only 4 or 5 were really for me personally
[18:27:33] <wjp> :-)
[18:27:48] <Dominus> a lot cvs commits, some mailing lists and that was it
[18:27:50] <wjp> pentagram commit mails? :-)
[18:27:58] <Dominus> yeah :-)
[18:28:19] <Dominus> pentagram and exult are the only ones I'm subscribed to (cvs I mean)
[18:29:47] <Dominus> I'm gone again, just wanted to say hello and thanks for the stuff
[18:29:50] <Dominus> bye bye
[18:29:54] <-- Dominus has left IRC ("enough for now")
[18:29:54] <wjp> bye :-)
[22:39:57] <-- wjp has left IRC ("Zzzz...")
