[11:39:11] <wjp> watt: you forgot to mark the images as binary files in the web cvs
[11:39:57] <wjp> or do we have a global setting in our CVSROOT making all png/gif files binary? (if such a setting exists)

[13:44:24] <watt> wjp: That would be new to me... never had to bother with that in subversion..I'll look into it
[13:44:58] <wjp> look at the -kb flag for the add and admin commands
[14:29:22] <-- Kirben has left IRC ("System Meltdown")

[17:31:57] <edbgon> hi
[17:36:35] <edbgon> !seen anyone
[17:36:37] <edbgon> ;)
[17:38:47] <wjp> hi :-)
[17:42:08] <edbgon> hey
[17:42:23] <edbgon> just compiled pentagram yet again
[17:42:29] <edbgon> :-)
[17:43:12] <edbgon> not much in the changelog, hehe
[18:01:03] <-- edbgon has left IRC ("Lost terminal")
[18:14:59] <wjp> let's see... web site content... :-)
[18:15:13] <wjp> I don't really see the point of the 'development' page
[18:17:25] --> Colourless has joined #Pentagram
[18:17:25] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Colourless
[18:17:55] <wjp> hi Ryan
[18:18:01] <Colourless> hiya
[18:22:59] <wjp> "What is it?" followed by "News" (as it is now) on the main page is probably fine
[18:23:50] <wjp> FAQ: I'm not too sure about the usefulness of the 'Changes' section at the top
[18:24:16] <wjp> I think I'd prefer the bottom if we want to keep it
[18:24:47] <Colourless> traditionally changes is at the top
[18:30:51] <wjp> but are the changes really that relevant when (random faq viewer) visits the FAQ?
[18:31:01] <Colourless> hell no
[18:31:35] <Colourless> i guess it was newsgroup peep's being all elitist
[18:31:39] <Colourless> (who started it all)
[18:32:02] <Colourless> put what they find relevant for themselves first, instead of what is relevant for new people
[18:35:26] <wjp> I think I'll remove the SDL link from the download page
[18:35:45] <wjp> that's probably not the best place for it
[18:35:58] <wjp> would fit better in a 'What do I need to build Pentagram?' section
[18:37:01] <wjp> not that we have such a section, but still :-)
[18:37:44] <Colourless> how detailed does the answer to 'what do i need to build pentagram' need to be? :-)
[18:38:16] <wjp> I think we can skip things like "a brain", "a PC", "a compiler" for now ;-)
[18:38:32] <Colourless> but we do need to indicate compilers and versions
[18:39:58] <wjp> hm, yeah, probably a good idea
[18:41:03] <wjp> might be a good use for the 'development' section
[18:41:26] <wjp> so what are the compiler requirements anyway?
[18:41:33] <wjp> for linux it's gcc 3.x
[18:41:44] <wjp> I would assume that means mingw 3.x works on windows
[18:41:56] <Colourless> i don't think we support any other compilers in cvs at the moment other than gcc 3.x
[18:49:29] <-- GingerNinja has left IRC ("Miranda IM! Smaller, Faster, Easier. http://miranda-im.org")
[18:50:20] --> GingerNinja has joined #pentagram
[19:08:53] <-- Colourless has left IRC ("casts invisibility")
[21:01:42] --> bpellin has joined #pentagram
[21:08:38] <wjp> and hi here too :-)
[21:53:58] <wjp> how strange; sometimes (once in 20 times or so) DOOR_NS::0340 is getting called on an already moving door (shape 114, frame 14), which causes the shape/frame calculations there to create invalid objects
[22:01:10] <-- bpellin has left IRC ("BitchX-1.0c20cvs -- just do it.")
[22:07:36] <-- Darke has left IRC (leguin.freenode.net irc.freenode.net)
[22:07:36] <-- Sectus has left IRC (leguin.freenode.net irc.freenode.net)

[22:07:36] <-- eldron has left IRC (leguin.freenode.net irc.freenode.net)
[22:07:36] <-- GingerNinja has left IRC (leguin.freenode.net irc.freenode.net)
[22:07:36] <-- EsBee-Eks has left IRC (leguin.freenode.net irc.freenode.net)
[22:08:20] --> wjp has joined #pentagram
[22:08:20] --> GingerNinja has joined #pentagram
[22:08:20] --> Sectus has joined #pentagram
[22:08:20] --> Darke has joined #pentagram
[22:08:20] --> EsBee-Eks has joined #pentagram
[22:08:20] --> eldron has joined #pentagram
[22:31:31] <-- Sectus has left IRC (Read error: 60 (Operation timed out))
[22:34:09] <wjp> oooooh... wait a sec
[22:34:28] * wjp wonders who exactly he's telling to wait a sec :-)
[22:35:55] <wjp> that was a tricky bug...
[22:36:08] <wjp> I was returning the object ID of the created object from Item::legal_create
[22:36:20] <wjp> but the return value was put in a byte and checked for 0 by usecode
[22:36:41] <wjp> and sometimes the created object would have an object ID with 0 as its LSbyte
[22:36:55] <wjp> which was interpreted as a failure even though the new object was created... yay :-)
[22:41:24] <wjp> well, that fixed the double doors issues
[22:46:37] --> Sectus has joined #pentagram
