[00:04:07] --> Kirben has joined #pentagram
[00:04:07] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Kirben
[00:22:07] --> Dark-Star has joined #pentagram
[00:32:16] <-- Dark-Star has left IRC ("ZZZzzz...")
[01:12:54] <servus> http://4.60.183.93/pent/
[01:13:00] <servus> I think it's rather nice looking, myself... *pleh*
[01:13:16] <servus> All tied together very cleanly with SSL
[01:15:30] <servus> Well, maybe no one likes it, but it's better than plaintext!
[01:15:32] * servus nods
[01:21:21] <watt> I like it.. could use a touch more for a back ground than pure black though
[01:23:52] <servus> Exult has pure white
[01:24:00] <servus> Or not
[01:24:11] <servus> Let me whip something up
[01:25:37] <watt> and it is indeed valid html4.0 - I simply have to check sometimes
[01:25:40] * watt is evil
[01:26:23] <servus> That's what it's there for
[01:26:47] <servus> It's pretty well organized though, the header and footer of each page is just one file, SSI'd into the page, so things are easily modifiable
[01:26:54] <watt> a tiled, almost-transparent, pentagram background might be cool
[01:26:58] <servus> Making just that now
[01:30:15] <servus> I don't think I like it
[01:30:22] <servus> I can't think of a clever way to tile it without them just being in squares
[01:31:13] <watt> err.. although.. it appears that you forgot to close some end table tags.
[01:31:27] <watt> </table instead of </table>
[01:32:12] <watt> I'll toy around in gimp a bit
[01:34:29] <servus> Look now
[01:36:09] <watt> that's kinda cool.. especially on my LCD.. if I don't look at it dead on, it does a really cool fading effect
[01:36:10] <servus> Too cheery, I think
[01:41:08] <servus> There, fixed the logo for transparency
[02:20:05] <watt> ehh.. my gimp skills suck today.
[02:30:22] <servus> http://4.60.183.93/pent/ check new background
[02:31:35] <watt> hmmm
[02:31:54] <watt> thats a good "hmmm"
[02:37:03] <watt> although 60k is alot for a background .. try using jpg.. I got it down to 12k and it still looks good
[02:37:34] <servus> There
[02:39:00] <watt> better.
[02:41:29] * servus waves
[02:42:18] <watt> still missed one </table tag
[02:48:29] <watt> I've been thinking about more code.. and I developed an idea - two derivative classes from the AvatarMoverProcess... one to allow direct keyborad/gamepad walking (combines directions - up + left = upleft) and one to allow rotational keyboard/gamepad movement (up for forward, left and right to turn)
[02:48:53] <watt> rotational movement might be really cool (and easy I think)
[04:13:48] <watt> huh.. umm the updates to the repo aren't there?????
[04:20:49] * watt cries... "And I was actually gonna code something cool too."

[18:58:43] <watt> last batch of commits aren't in cvs for some odd reason
[19:02:13] <wjp> oh, yay, I'm getting bombarded by bounced russian spam again
[19:02:42] <wjp> hm, your mouse cleanup patch, you mean?
[19:03:24] <wjp> that's definitely in cvs, but maybe not in anoncvs yet
[19:05:12] <watt> hmmm... IO didn't know there was a difference
[19:05:32] <wjp> anoncvs can be behind a bit
[19:05:37] <watt> spam should be outlawed. IMO
[19:06:18] <wjp> I'm current getting over a dozen of these every bounces every five minutes
[19:06:38] <wjp> s/every bounces/bounces/
[19:07:10] <wjp> luckily they're all pretty much identical, so I'm filtering them away
[19:07:14] <watt> I feel for you man.
[19:08:05] <wjp> I'll live ;-)
[19:08:52] <wjp> you can get a recent cvs snapshot from http://www.math.leidenuniv.nl/~wpalenst/cvs/ if you want
[19:09:29] <watt> perhaps later... I've got class to be attending quite soon
[19:09:31] <wjp> (it's not always up to date, but it is now :-) )
[20:47:44] <-- Colourless has left IRC ("casts invisibility")
[20:48:59] <watt> I probably should write my 3 page paper on "what ethics means to me" but I think I need to do something that I actually care about first.
[21:23:11] --> shinji-kun has joined #pentagram
[22:05:52] <watt> hmmm... It looks like the idea behind attacking (when it is implemented) is that GameMapGump::OnMouseDouble would find the object pointed to, determine if it is in range, instruct the AvatarMoverProcess to do whatever attack animation, and then tell the object that it was attacked.
[22:06:46] <watt> instead of having AvatarMoverProcess in control (it doesn't deal with double-clicks directly)
[22:06:57] <watt> is this just about acurate?
[22:34:49] <wjp> hm, actually, I'm not totally sure
[22:35:11] <wjp> I don't know how the original U8 picked a target
[22:35:31] <wjp> it's very possible you don't need to actually have the mouse cursor on it to attack it
[22:36:10] <wjp> I also think there's an animation frame flag that triggers the actual 'hit' to the target
[23:01:51] <watt> hmmm....
[23:02:40] <-- shinji-kun has left IRC (""Baka!" - Asuka-chan")
[23:24:53] <wjp> looking over u8anim.txt; two bits are marked as 'unknown but maybe attack related'
[23:25:16] <wjp> it's been a long time since I looked at this, though
[23:27:06] <wjp> flags during an attack animation, frame by frame: 00000010 00000110 00001010 00000110 00000010 00000010
[23:27:16] <wjp> (avatar, action 7, direction 0)
[23:28:11] <wjp> a kith: 00100010 00100010 00100110 00100110 00101110 00100110 00100010
[23:28:43] <wjp> troll: 00100010 00100110 00101110 00100010 00101110 00100010 00100010
[23:28:51] <wjp> note that a troll hits you twice with his club in a single animation
[23:29:16] <wjp> If I had to guess right now, I would say that bit 3 is 'deliver hit'
[23:29:33] <wjp> not really sure what bit 2 would be
[23:32:35] <wjp> daemon: 00100010 00100110 00101010 00101110 00101010 00101010 00100110 00100010
[23:35:55] <wjp> time to go
[23:35:56] <wjp> night
