[09:06:55] <wjp> watt: QuickItemGump? :-)
[11:53:00] <watt> er.. I was attempting to make a gump that contains "shortcuts" to your items...
[11:53:37] <watt> It's doable, just harder than I originally thought
[11:56:11] <wjp> ah, cool; I originally thought it was for Crusader :-)
[11:57:53] <wjp> didn't that have an inventory that worked by having a single item selected somewhere at the top of the screen?
[11:58:04] <wjp> (with 'select next' and 'use' keys)
[12:01:52] <Colourless> store that ObjID should be what you need...
[12:02:39] <wjp> that might make it behave strangely when merging items
[12:03:21] <Colourless> hmm
[12:03:28] <Colourless> well...
[12:06:06] <wjp> another thing to consider would be just storing shape/frame (and maybe) quality and searching for an item of that type in your inventory when using it
[12:06:12] <wjp> not perfect either, I know
[12:07:32] <wjp> an advantage of that would be that when you run out of potions (for example), you wouldn't have to re-add the potion to the quickslot when you refilled your stock later
[12:07:44] <wjp> although it might also be confusing
[12:39:32] <watt> It also would need a process to continually check if the item is still in your backpack, and if not, try to replace it with more of the same item
[12:40:21] <wjp> or some kind of trigger mechanism on containers
[12:41:13] <watt> the rules were originally going to be: you can drag items onto the gump (replacing the old one if there), look and use, but you couldn't drag them off.
[12:42:28] <watt> A lot of container gump code was going to be copied... then I kinda stopped working on that as I needed sleep... and didn't really touch it since
[12:44:07] <watt> anyway... time for work.. bye
[12:47:00] <wjp> bye

[19:08:59] <sbx> yo
[19:09:22] <wjp> hi
[19:20:13] <sbx> I finally saw the last episode of Wolfs Rain
[19:20:22] <sbx> it... still doesn't make much sense
[19:20:35] <sbx> but I guess I couldnt have expected anything else after all that happened
[19:21:21] <wjp> :-)
[19:24:03] <sbx> I'm guessing the future versions of them join an anime studio and produce a show about wolves that appear as humans.
[19:24:20] <sbx> the end
[19:25:14] <sbx> ...or is it?
[19:25:36] <sbx> I read a rumor of a sequel.
[19:26:32] <sbx> don't want to see depressing first series again but I'd watch a second just to see how they pull it off
[19:27:41] <sbx> well I guess it's not all depressing it ends pretty cool, I just wonder why the humans didnt appear
[20:59:47] <sbx> arcanum has sort order issues
