[12:00:44] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Colourless
[12:01:08] <Colourless> hi
[12:01:49] <Colourless> oh no: Failure when sending email to AOL users http://cgi.internode.on.net/advisories/list.php?id=1705
[12:04:08] <Colourless> all i have to say about that is yay for AOL
[12:05:46] <DarkeZzz> Oh no! That'll mean I won't be able to send email to... oh, I don't *know* anyone who uses AOL.
[12:07:38] <Colourless> exactly
[12:16:47] <wjp> hi
[12:17:13] <wjp> why do they label this "high impact"?
[12:17:16] <DarkeZzz> Hrm... didn't Dominus have an aol address at one point in time? That's about as close as I can get...
[12:17:25] <wjp> his parents have AOL I think
[12:18:28] <Colourless> high impact i think means it in theory affects everyone, and there is no work around
[12:18:51] <Colourless> of course my modem troubles on sunday morning were listed as only medium impact :-)
[12:21:22] <Colourless> = Low impact - little or no interruption to services
[12:21:22] <Colourless> = Medium impact - possible localised interruption of some services
[12:21:22] <Colourless> = High impact - network-wide interruption of services likely
[12:22:38] <DarkeZzz> Hmm... maybe they're worried that someone might be driven to suicide if they don't get their 'me too!' reply for an AOLite?
[12:23:00] <DarkeZzz> That's the only way I can get this to a 'high impact'.
[12:50:36] <wjp> Colourless: did you notice I committed some animation experiments recently, btw?
[12:50:47] <wjp> (semi-accidentally... :-) )
[12:51:01] <Colourless> um, no...
[12:51:05] <Colourless> when is 'recently'
[12:51:07] <wjp> the '#ifdef ANIMATIONINTERRUPT' stuff in ActorAnimProcess
[12:51:15] <wjp> probably with the huge saving commit
[12:51:47] <wjp> what it basically does is interrupt an animation when "that" flag is set
[12:52:34] <wjp> ...and continue at that spot if the same animation is played again
[12:52:50] <wjp> the "animaction->unk1 == 5" condition is wrong, though
[12:53:49] <wjp> it was meant to have it happen only in the walking anim, but it also breaks some casting stuff
[12:53:56] <wjp> brb
[13:02:29] <wjp> b
[13:02:38] <Colourless> wb :-)
[13:02:45] --- wjp is now known as wjp|work
[13:03:04] <wjp|work> it had some interesting effects on walking anims
[13:03:25] <wjp|work> it reproduced Darion's step-pause-step-pause style of walking quite well
[13:04:02] <Colourless> well, we don't really know how the originals animation processes worked
[13:04:45] <wjp|work> which is why I was experimenting a bit :-)
[14:32:35] * wjp|work just now notices he typed INTTERUPT
[14:36:19] <wjp|work> I should go take a look at the original to see if pathfinding/walking works in steps or in double steps
[14:36:50] <wjp|work> kind of hard to tell, though
[14:37:12] <wjp|work> maybe the paths Vividos walks in the cemetery are complicated enough to show
[14:37:32] <Colourless> well, that should show something
[15:00:13] <wjp|work> time to go
[15:00:20] <-- wjp|work has left IRC ("bbl")
[15:53:01] --> wjp has joined #pentagram
[15:53:01] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to wjp
[15:58:55] <-- Kirben has left IRC (vinge.freenode.net irc.freenode.net)
[15:58:55] <-- DarkeZzz has left IRC (vinge.freenode.net irc.freenode.net)
[15:59:23] --> Kirben has joined #pentagram
[15:59:23] --> DarkeZzz has joined #pentagram
[15:59:24] --- ChanServ removes channel operator status from DarkeZzz
[16:16:59] <wjp> looks like the guard at the gates just took three steps towards me, then turned, and then took another step
[16:16:59] <wjp> so I'm guessing they moved in steps
[16:16:59] <wjp> vividos takes odd numbers of steps too
[16:16:59] <wjp> additionally, temporary monsters do indeed disappear when you leave the fastarea
[16:16:59] * wjp waves bye-bye to exultbot
[16:16:59] <Colourless> uh?
[16:16:59] <wjp> "uh?"?
[16:16:59] <Colourless> [01:39] * wjp waves bye-bye to exultbot
[16:16:59] <wjp> ah :-)
[16:16:59] <wjp> you'll see :-)
[16:16:59] <wjp> anyway, looks like we'll have to get a bit creative with animations
[16:17:34] <wjp> ah, he's back
[16:28:26] <wjp> kind of...
[16:28:26] * wjp sighs... another monday evening
[16:28:28] <wjp> this kind of complicates pathfinding
[16:28:45] <wjp> since what you can do the next step depends on the previous step
[16:29:59] <wjp> nothing we can't handle, though :-)
[16:31:29] <Colourless> :-)
[16:49:50] <-- Kirben has left IRC (Read error: 54 (Connection reset by peer))
[16:58:28] <wjp> bbl, dinner
[17:19:38] <wjp> back
[20:06:08] --> Dominus has joined #pentagram
[20:06:37] <Dominus> hi
[20:08:38] <wjp> hi
[20:09:12] <Colourless> i
[20:09:17] <Colourless> 'm off now
[20:09:18] <Colourless> cya
[20:09:21] <-- Colourless has left IRC ("casts invisibility")
[20:48:30] <Dominus> I was driving too much the last two months. Spent 5600 km behind the wheel
[20:48:49] <Dominus> been to switzerland over the weekend
[21:45:30] <Dominus> got to go
[21:45:32] <Dominus> bye
[21:45:38] <-- Dominus has left IRC ("enough for now")
[22:37:51] <-- wjp has left IRC ("Zzzz....")
