[00:01:00] <wjp> ok, let's see if this hack works :-)
[00:03:12] <wjp> or, on second thought, let's first put getSliderInput in u8intrinsics.h *cough*
[00:03:46] <Colourless> :-)
[00:04:32] <wjp> hm, I don't quite see how I can reach the create item usecode
[00:05:16] <wjp> I guess that leaves the beggar
[00:13:12] <wjp> ok, it opens the gump, correctly sets min, max, step
[00:13:18] <wjp> and completely refuses to work :-)
[00:13:26] <wjp> but I think that's the avatarInStasis bug
[00:14:32] <wjp> indeed
[00:14:37] <wjp> um
[00:14:40] <wjp> he took all my money
[00:15:04] <wjp> now the question is if that's a bug in this hack or a bug in the routine that substracts the money :-)
[00:15:33] <Colourless> well, enable usecode tracing :-)
[00:17:20] <wjp> ok, retval is correct
[00:18:39] <wjp> oh yuck... FREE::20B8 is the function that looks like it's supposed to get the money
[00:19:10] <wjp> and that is one large function
[00:20:49] * wjp files another bugreport
[00:24:54] <Colourless> any idea where the problem is?
[00:30:55] <wjp> hm, not directly
[00:31:10] <wjp> FREE::20B8 seems to create a list of items to destroy while executing
[00:31:18] <wjp> and at the end it loops over them and destroys them
[00:31:47] <Colourless> well, i really should be gone
[00:31:51] <Colourless> ccya
[00:31:53] <wjp> same here :-)
[00:31:54] <wjp> bye
[00:31:56] <-- Colourless has left IRC ("casts invisibility")
[00:43:24] <wjp> the actual taking of the coins seems to work ok
[00:43:30] <wjp> but afterwards it does something weird
[00:43:41] <wjp> possibly recombining piles of obsidian
[00:43:51] <wjp> function FREE::2767
[00:44:15] <wjp> that doesn't do anything that could get rid of the items, except call FREE::28C7 which does a push, setframe, pop
[00:45:02] <wjp> interesting
[00:45:17] <wjp> apparently when pushed it needs to stay in the container (in some sense)
[00:46:58] <wjp> will look at this later
[00:56:50] <wjp> committed all this for now, since I don't know how much time I'll have the next couple of days

[07:28:24] <watt> I guess it is temp code.. but
[07:28:34] <watt> you know.
[07:30:11] <watt> heh... anyway.. this poor soul drank too much. Off to sleep.

[08:17:54] <Harekiet> and hi wjp :)
[10:21:58] --> Colourless has joined #Pentagram
[10:21:58] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Colourless
[10:22:23] <Colourless> hi
[10:24:21] <wjp> hi
[10:24:43] <wjp> I think I found the cause of that disappearing-money bug last night
[10:25:03] <Colourless> you did? I was just going to ask (expecting that you hadn't) :-)
[10:25:33] * wjp points at logs
[10:25:56] <Colourless> yeah well, i haven't looked at those yet
[10:26:07] <wjp> it does a 'push; setframe; pop' on an item in a container
[10:26:22] <wjp> but push removes it from the container in such a way that pop can't put it back
[10:27:57] <Colourless> FREE:28C7 you say...\
[10:29:15] <Colourless> hmm. yes indeed
[10:29:34] <Colourless> pop does pop to world... when it looks like it should be doing pop to container
[10:29:52] --- EsBee-Eks is now known as SB-X
[10:33:46] <Colourless> i'm guessing that pop(void) should pop to the previous container an item was in if it was pushed from a container
[10:37:28] <Colourless> i'll fix this in a bit
[10:57:07] --> sbx has joined #pentagram

[13:41:18] --> sbx has joined #pentagram
[13:41:18] <-- EsBee-Eks has left IRC (Read error: 104 (Connection reset by peer))
[13:44:33] <wjp> strange... I already had code in startDragging that only prevented dragging of items (and allowed dragging gumps) when in stasis
[13:44:51] <wjp> but this was overruled by a stasis check in the mousemotion handler

[19:09:35] <wjp> hm, pausing and lerping don't work all that well together :-)

[19:27:02] * wjp just hacked in a 'frame by frame' mode
[19:27:24] <wjp> enable it and it will pause until you press space, at which point it will continue a single frame and then pause again
[20:40:46] --> Dominus has joined #pentagram
[20:40:48] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Dominus
[20:41:16] <Dominus> hi
[20:41:32] <Dominus> Harekiet? isn't one of dosbox called that?
[21:10:33] --> Knight has joined #pentagram
[21:14:19] <Fingolfin> hi Dominus
[21:14:27] <Dominus> hey ho
[21:14:33] <Fingolfin> Dominus: Harekiet is indeed one of the dosbox authors
[21:14:36] <Fingolfin> see also #dosbox =)
[21:14:37] <Dominus> did you buy that DVD-player?
[21:14:47] <Fingolfin> yes
[21:14:47] <Dominus> ah, thought I recognize the nick
[21:15:04] <Dominus> and how is divx playback?
[21:15:51] <Fingolfin> I haven't tested DivX myself yet. However, this might interest you: http://www.heise.de/newsticker/data/vza-22.12.03-000/
[21:16:03] <Dominus> I'd really like to know how "old" divx (the hacked one 3.xx version)
[21:16:18] <Fingolfin> see above link :-)
[21:17:04] <Dominus> doesn't look too bad
[21:17:20] <Fingolfin> I had one annoyance so far, with a plain normal Audio CD, where it had some "Aussetzer" (gap?), for no apparent reason (i.e. CD is perfectly fine, no earthquakes, nor did I jump up and down next to it or anything like that :-)
[21:18:22] * Colourless would use the term 'skip'\
[21:18:35] <Dominus> for CDs I still have my age-old player (over 12 years old). It was flooded once on an open-air party when a thunderstorm came to visit but still plays anything you throw at it
[21:18:35] <Fingolfin> "skip", indeed :-)
[21:18:47] <Fingolfin> hehe
[21:19:01] <Dominus> I guess the dvd player is code free
[21:20:01] <Fingolfin> yeah I also have my own CD player, of course. I was just wondering if I could replace amplifier+cd player by this DVD player (it has a tuner, too, after all). Right now, I think I might keep the old equipment but put it on the aux1/2 input lines of the DVD player (to make use of the 5.1 system... err.. well of course things will still be stereo, but anyway, no need to keep two sets of speakers in the room)
[21:20:16] <Dominus> I also wonder how playback of mp3 works. I mean how much you see of the filename on tv
[21:20:33] <Dominus> my dvd player only shows the 8 first characters....
[21:20:36] <Dominus> bad
[21:20:38] <wjp> hi Dominus, Fingolfin
[21:21:44] <Fingolfin> Dominus: oh wait - i just noticed that the heise.de article is about the Aldi-Nord player. Mine is from Aldi-Süd... I am not sure if those are the same (i.e. mine is DVD player plus Dolby Surround speakers)
[21:21:57] <Dominus> ah
[21:22:39] <Dominus> I wonder if I could get that player from "Hofer" (aldi is called hofer over here)
[21:22:57] <Fingolfin> check the internet site, I guess :-)
[21:23:12] <Dominus> ah, too easy :-)
[21:23:16] <Fingolfin> www.hofer.at
[21:23:27] <Fingolfin> see also http://aldi.de/ for links to all their international web sites :-)
[21:23:47] <Fingolfin> hm, no
[21:23:52] <Fingolfin> but you can buy an external HD =)
[21:24:01] <Dominus> yeah looks good
[21:24:05] <Fingolfin> FireWire/USB 2.0, 160 GB, 170 Euros
[21:24:20] <Dominus> I'm running out of space to store all my comics...
[21:25:09] <Fingolfin> grrrr. on the Aldi Nord homepage, they only show the offerings for *next* week. So I can't get find a picture/specs of their DVD player to compare with mine <sigh>
[21:48:29] <-- Colourless has left IRC ("casts invisibility")
