[03:05:49] <-- Kirben has left IRC ()
[03:29:22] <pupnik> yeah
[03:40:34] <lupine_85> :)
[03:49:05] * lupine_85 wonders about jazzing up the graphics a bit
[03:57:29] <pupnik> the u8 gfx?
[03:57:51] <lupine_85> yeah
[03:58:48] <pupnik> what games have you done gfx for?
[03:59:36] <lupine_85> none at all :/.
[04:01:49] <lupine_85> mostly idle musing; replacing every sprite, tile and shape would be... non-trivial :D
[04:11:22] <pupnik> if you are interested in learning about lo-res gfx work i have a project where you can start on a tile-by-tile basis - there are about 40 that need completely new tiles and about 400 that need editing/touchup
[04:12:21] <lupine_85> Sounds like... fun :)
[04:12:31] <lupine_85> do you have a link or something?
[04:13:23] <pupnik> http://pupnik.de/tometilewarphq2x2x.png
[04:15:31] <pupnik> lots of work - about 4 months full time so far
[04:16:12] <lupine_85> does look like a lot of little sprites, there
[04:16:55] <pupnik> yeah the whole gui needs rework imo
[04:17:16] <lupine_85> I'd like to help, although I don't know how much use i'd be
[04:17:42] <pupnik> yeah it's the sort of thing where it takes a couple of weeks to get up to speed
[04:20:10] <pupnik> and then a couple weeks/months to get any good
[04:21:11] <lupine_85> hehe. well, if you let me know what's expected and where to get the sources from, I'll give it a go
[04:21:14] --- pupnik is now known as pupnikafk
[04:22:00] <pupnikafk> i'll try to get around to it by .. november or so
[04:22:10] <pupnikafk> you can look at Tales of Middle Earth if you like
[04:22:20] <pupnikafk> it's great stuff - oldschool roguelike

[21:29:24] <pupnik> what pisses me off is there are these billionaire charity funds and none of them ever sponsor open-source projects
[23:10:56] <lupine_85> well, they're usually busy alleviating poverty or some such
[23:12:53] <lupine_85> could always apply to the Bill & Melinda Gates fund
[23:17:43] --> Colourless has joined #Pentagram
[23:17:43] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Colourless
[23:27:08] <Mrrrrz0r> pupnik - and they all say thanks for the OSS, but they dont give a shit about helping fund it
[23:27:14] <Mrrrrz0r> at least the US ones
[23:27:28] <Mrrrrz0r> the EU has a lot better track record with OSS donations and funding :)
