[15:22:20] <watt> 938MB download for xcode 2.4 - yikes... well, that'll take a while
[18:43:56] <watt> done ;-)
[19:45:33] <-- watt has left IRC (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[20:13:03] --> watt has joined #pentagram
[20:13:04] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to watt
[20:14:38] <watt> Ok, interesting, there does not appear to be the option to include x86_64 in the fat binary inside xcode, but the same is true of ppc64 - I think I could bypass the gui options and include them in the property setting anyway, but that would just be silly.
[20:15:16] <watt> probably a hint that you don't want to do it unless you have real reasons too
[20:16:00] * watt curses bad wireless connection at work
[20:16:42] <servus> xcode scares me.
[20:20:56] <watt> thats because xcode is scary ;-)
[20:21:29] <servus> Scary scary! Last time I tried to use it, I stopped after 5 minutes and realizing that it cannot import makefiles.
[20:22:41] <watt> Actually, I kinda like it - once you get the hang of it, it makes sense... still not good for actually coding though. External editors are quite a bit better
[20:24:00] <watt> can't import makfiles? It doesn't have much in the way of integration with them, but I believe you can have xcode call make to compile.
[20:26:30] <servus> Yes but with, say, Visual Studio, you can actually convert a makefile into a proper Visual Studio project and workspace.
[20:26:38] <servus> Last I checked, at least :)
[20:27:23] <watt> ah. Yeah, Xcode would suck hard at such a task.
[20:27:43] <servus> OK, bbl :)
[20:28:07] <watt> There may be some 3rd party make->xcode proj converter, but I doubt it.
[21:38:13] <servus> Seems like a third of the Exult/Nuvie/Pentagram nuvie developers compile on Mac now, hm :)
[21:41:12] <watt> hehe... there was some level of talk on the exult forums... not sure if anyone actually did end up making universal binaries or not.... miht not matter though.. exult runs nice and fast already.
[21:42:00] <servus> I could probably do it. I've made a couple universal binaries... What CVS version? Ah, I guess I could look
