[13:22:58] --> Vio___ has joined #pentagram
[13:23:16] <Vio___> hi
[13:23:22] <Vio___> anyone in here?
[13:23:31] <Kohlrabi> me
[13:23:35] <Kohlrabi> hi
[13:23:46] <Kohlrabi> though I'm not rleated to the project :)
[13:24:04] <Vio___> but maybe you can help me
[13:24:15] <Kohlrabi> yeah, maybe :)
[13:24:25] <Vio___> do you know how i can change the text speed?
[13:24:34] <Kohlrabi> in pentagram?
[13:24:36] <Vio___> i cant read so fast
[13:24:38] <Vio___> yes
[13:24:44] <Kohlrabi> Sorry, I don't know
[13:24:51] <Kohlrabi> I don't own U8 actually *cough*
[13:25:09] <Kohlrabi> I'm waiting here for the big announcement "Crusader working now!!!"
[13:25:11] <Kohlrabi> ;)
[13:25:14] <Vio___> hehe
[13:25:22] <Vio___> crusader was cool
[13:25:28] <Kohlrabi> yep
[13:25:56] <Vio___> are they nearly finished?
[13:28:01] <Kohlrabi> maybe there is no
[13:28:10] <Kohlrabi> ups
[13:28:12] <Kohlrabi> I mean
[13:28:13] <Kohlrabi> no
[13:28:22] <Kohlrabi> I was just reading the readme
[13:28:29] <Kohlrabi> Nothing about text speed in there
[13:28:39] <Vio___> i know
[13:28:46] <Kohlrabi> do you compile yourself?
[13:28:52] <Vio___> no
[13:29:05] <Kohlrabi> hmm
[13:29:47] <Vio___> my programming skills are weak
[13:30:05] <Kohlrabi> mine too
[13:30:20] <Kohlrabi> was jsut a guess to look for it somewhere
[13:37:53] <wjp> there's a textdelay option you can set
[13:38:45] <wjp> default is 5, higher is slower
[13:51:45] <-- watt has left IRC (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[13:52:57] <-- Kirben has left IRC (Read error: 110 (Connection timed out))
[13:56:53] --> watt has joined #pentagram
[13:56:53] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to watt
[14:04:57] <watt> Vio___: the setting you are looking for should be "textdelay" and defaults to 5
[14:06:45] <watt> hmmm... we really should add some of those to the docs.
[14:24:35] <-- Lord_Nightmare has left IRC (Remote closed the connection)
[14:28:44] --> Lord_Nightmare has joined #pentagram
[14:38:50] <Vio___> hi
[14:38:53] <Vio___> thx
[14:39:27] <Vio___> the console tells me that the command doesnt exsist
[14:40:22] <watt> not console.. config file
[14:40:43] <Vio___> ok ill try this
[14:40:56] <Vio___> this is a cool project btw
[17:37:10] --- Lord_Nightmare is now known as LordNAway
[18:00:57] <-- Vio___ has left IRC (Read error: 101 (Network is unreachable))
[18:16:11] --> Vio___ has joined #pentagram
[18:17:23] <watt> hate it when CDDB is just plain wrong
[18:17:48] * watt sighs
[18:18:21] <servus> watt: gcc -arch i686 -arch ppc works, (not x86), interesting : o)
[18:19:44] <watt> yeah, I realized that a liitle after typing it ^_^
[18:21:14] <watt> I believe you can actually use a large number of archs
[18:25:06] <watt> i686 registers as i386 in the fat object - so you can't specify both i386 and i686... not sure just how many "slots" (i guess that's a good word for it) are currently available in fat binaries.
[18:25:32] <watt> just did "gcc -arch i686 -arch x86_64 -arch ppc -arch ppc64 -c hello.c" and it seems to work well
[18:28:08] <watt> interestingly enough.. you do specify x86_64 and not i686_64 - that's why I kept assuming x86 instead of i686
[18:39:05] <watt> ah.. -arch is a darwin extension, according to GCC's manual
[18:39:26] <servus> Which is cool. I'd never seen that before (only lipo), and neither had the Apple developer I showed it to
[18:39:34] <servus> Yeah, usually it's -march
[18:39:39] <watt> so, yeah... there only exist 4 options at this point
[18:40:09] <servus> man gcc says "(APPLE ONLY)" next to -arch :)
[18:41:48] <watt> I reckon its one of the extensions added by NeXT (they had support for Universal Binaries too, but called them "Fat") -- and most of those extensions didn't find their way back into GCC until completely recoded for the 3.x & 4.x series
[18:41:52] <servus> My man gcc says -arch only allows i386, ppc, and ppc64, though i686 works and just is implicitly renamed to i386 (you can't use i386 and i686 in the same universal, because it's really only i386)
[18:42:24] <watt> same goes for most of the Objective C stuff too, I believe
[18:42:43] <servus> x86_64 and x86-64 aren't valid arch names.
[18:42:58] <watt> Is it still 686 optimized?
[18:43:14] <watt> x86_64 is recent
[18:43:58] <watt> 4.0.1-5363 on my version
[18:43:58] <servus> I'm on gcc i686-apple-darwin8-gcc-4.0.1 (GCC) 4.0.1 (Apple Computer, Inc. build 5250)
[18:44:13] <servus> So you are slightly more recent :)
[18:44:25] <servus> That's a big upgrade for only a build release
[18:44:42] <watt> yeah... newest Xcode kite - nothing else big happened in it.
[18:45:06] <watt> s/kite/kit/
[18:45:49] <watt> I probably shouldn't have bother upgrading that.
