[00:29:14] <Colourless> i found XCode not that bad once i completely changed its key bindings to match what I use in Visual Studio :-)
[00:30:14] <servus> I still wish that OSX gave a lot more meta key rebinding power. I can't even use the insert key in vim using xterm
[00:31:00] <Colourless> definately still find it frustrating sometimes, but i blame that more on the way MacOS works... I like tabbed windows in Visual Studio so i tend to lose all my open windows in XCode
[00:31:17] <Colourless> servus, same here.
[00:32:34] <Colourless> having term is good, having it not work exactly like linux is annoying
[00:35:33] <watt> TextMate.app - tabbed goodness indeed
[00:35:53] <watt> and for vim - I still recommend gvim
[00:36:29] <Colourless> TextMate.app *commits to memory*
[00:37:04] <Colourless> watt, how difficult it is to setup making a univeral binary in xcode?
[00:37:07] <watt> I've pretty much given up on using Xcode as an editor - partially due to the tabbed stuff
[00:38:20] <watt> If you can compile it as a non-universal in xcode, then its pretty much just a checkmark and pointing at a newer SDK - I think 10.3 is the minimum
[00:39:08] <Colourless> okies.
[00:41:33] <watt> Although, some have run into other troubles, like dosbox - they had some bug that has prevented them putting out an official universal - some other site puts out an unofficial using the proposed patch
[00:41:56] <watt> I've actually yet to use it on this machine... figured I can wait
[00:42:24] <Colourless> one thing that has been makes me scratch my head is frameworks
[00:43:42] <Colourless> with pentagram how do you compile in the libraries?
[00:43:47] <watt> It should - they're funky - easy to use if set up right though
[00:44:30] <watt> SDL and SDL-ttf are already frameworks provided from their site.
[00:45:40] <watt> For libpng, I took my example from http://generalconsumption.org/projects/libpng_zlib/ - altered and updated a bit and used it as a framework as well
[00:48:00] <watt> didn't mess with any dylibs - could have easily done that for libpng.
[00:48:46] <watt> but I'm not a fan of dynamic libraries if they aren't already installed in OS X
[00:50:23] <watt> they have linking funkyness - I think its similiar to Solaris IIRC - you tell the linker the initial path it should try at runtime and then it tries others if it couldn't find it
[00:51:18] <-- SB-X has left IRC ("BRB")
[00:52:20] <watt> libpng xcode project files: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1518448&group_id=5624&atid=205624
[00:52:51] <watt> They still have yet to comment on it

[01:38:02] <servus> Colourless: Getting xterm up on OSX is pretty easy, but Terminal.app is a joke and xterm is broken broken... and I can't find a way to fix it. It looks like a really low-level screwy keyboard handling thing in the OS. I use a Windows keyboard.
[01:39:45] <servus> I like how every time I open OSX Terminal, it centers itself to be half off my screen.
[01:47:53] <-- Kohlriba has left IRC ("Quit")
[03:24:29] <watt> It does?

[13:06:25] * Colourless yawns
[13:09:01] <Colourless> well that was a fruitful day of screwing around in OSX. My project compiles again... which it did this morning but i sort of rebuilt the entire xcode project
[13:09:40] <Colourless> and I even fixed a bug. crash on startup :-)

[19:59:27] <watt> So, OS X user: Growl seriously rocks hard
[20:01:00] <watt> nice bubbly notifications for apps... just added GrowlTunes because I noticed I wanted to see what I was listening to on my streaming radio station
[20:01:07] <servus> Growl?
[20:01:20] <watt> http://growl.info
[20:04:39] <servus> Neat. I don't think I'd use it, though.
[20:11:05] <watt> My IRC client uses it, which sparked my interest...
[20:12:28] <watt> I think it bypasses the preferences panel though
