[15:15:45] <watt> Don't think so. We're just trying to recreate the engine at the moment.

[15:17:51] <watt> Yes. Any nice additions are added where we can.... and sometimes fixes for bugs in the original usecode are possible.

[15:19:05] <Monochrome> it is extremely frustrating when some chars tells you a quest objective only once
[15:19:53] <watt> Something like a conversation history might be possible.
[15:20:15] <Monochrome> for example when vividos tells you to go to the catacombs he only tells you once where are location you're supposed to go
[15:20:24] <Monochrome> in this case, the tomb of the necromancers
[15:20:37] <watt> objectives list might be too close to the actual game content to code nicely.

[15:21:43] <watt> But yes, a conversation history would probably be a pretty good feature request.
[15:21:55] <Monochrome> but to be hoenst, one thing i really hate on ultima 8 its its extreme ambiguity
[15:22:10] <Monochrome> like most of the times you praticly have to guess where to go next
[15:22:41] <Monochrome> for example, if i recall correctly, no one tells you the location of argentrock
[15:22:53] <Monochrome> not even that you're supposed to go there via the catacombs
[15:23:12] <Monochrome> i'm sorry if i'm just ranting, but it is really frustrating :p
[15:27:08] <watt> I'm right there with you. I had to buy a strategy guide the first time - couldn't figure out the Necromancer's dagger
[15:28:10] <Monochrome> the game is praticly impossible to pass without one of those unless you have the patience to use every single item combination in the game
[15:29:27] <Monochrome> which could take months according to u8's infinite amount of interactive stuff :p
[15:29:35] <watt> I had a lot of patience as a kid :-)
[15:30:33] <Monochrome> which actually suprises me :p
[15:30:41] <Monochrome> because its not just a matter of patience
[15:30:56] <Monochrome> to be honest i only started laying U8 since a few months ago
[15:31:51] <Monochrome> passed the first parts without any walkthrough then i had to start using when i entered the hall of the mountain king
[15:32:08] <Monochrome> i didnt take months to pass the first parts of the game
[15:32:27] <Monochrome> it just that this game is actually so scary it really twitches my nerves :p
[15:33:10] <Monochrome> i often found myself wanting to play but ended up not playing because i was actually affraid :p
[15:33:23] <Monochrome> not even diablo caused that sort of feeling on me

[22:10:53] <watt> Not sure it would be a good idea to implement directly in that save game file though due to how large it would get over the course of a game.
