[00:46:12] <Dominus> wow, SourceForge is really really pushing for that new Forge thing
[00:46:18] <Dominus> even in SVN commits...
[01:23:15] <Dominus> wat, while I'm on the way, to bed, may I annoy you with a "can you fix the keybinder"? (no modifier + keys possible and no move by arrow)
[01:23:24] <Dominus> :)
[01:23:27] <Dominus> good night
[02:28:15] <-- lupine has left IRC (Excess Flood)
[02:28:57] --> lupine has joined #pentagram
[17:05:46] <Dominus> wjp, did I do the coreaudio backport ok, or is it too hackish? Particularly the SettingManager* setting = SettingManager::get_instance(); and later if (setting->exists("soundfont")){
[17:15:42] <wjp> you can probably skip the entire exists check
[17:16:03] <wjp> since getConfigSetting(..., "") will return "" if it doesn't exist
[17:16:11] <wjp> and you already check for that afterwards
[18:55:56] <-- Colourless has left IRC (Ping timeout: 256 seconds)
[19:01:45] --> Colourless has joined #pentagram
[19:01:45] <-- Colourless has left IRC (Changing host)
[19:01:45] --> Colourless has joined #pentagram
[19:01:45] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Colourless
[19:17:38] <Dominus> hmm, right
[19:18:03] <Dominus> on the downside, wjp, did you get that SF mail just now?
[19:18:20] <Dominus> force switching to the new platform :(
[19:18:23] <wjp> oh yes
[19:18:43] <wjp> not happy about that
[19:18:57] <Dominus> yes, me neither
[19:20:11] <Dominus> if we were really active and so, I'd suggest moving to something else like github, gitorious or whatever. it's not as if it wouldn't make much less work than this new platform
[19:20:51] <wjp> I think our history is relatively clean, so a git conversion shouldn't take that much work
[19:21:42] <Dominus> he he, now I've opened the box :)
[19:22:14] <wjp> I had actually just typed this line when you made the github/gitorious comment:
[19:22:20] <wjp> on a slightly related note, do you have any experience with git?
[19:22:37] <Dominus> he he
[19:22:54] <Dominus> my experience is that it confuses the hell out of me
[19:23:00] <wjp> I love git
[19:23:35] <wjp> (and already use git for pentagram via git-svn)
[19:24:27] <Dominus> I'm cloning an irc client repository and have a little theme for that on github. That theme is a fork of an existing project on githun but handling a fork got messy right away. Didn't quite get how to do what :)
[19:25:03] <Dominus> BUT I can learn and it's not as if I hadn't messed up with SVN from time to time :)
[19:25:48] <Dominus> I have experience with regression bisecting with git and THAT feature is really useful
[19:26:07] <wjp> it's great to be able to commit, test, fix, test, fix original commit, push fixed commit to the server
[19:27:01] <Dominus> (though that first time I used bisect was for a wine bug report and when I finally found the regression the comitter told me basicly that I should noob off :))
[19:29:19] <Dominus> so, except for our website and the existing bug tracker items etc. I'd not shed a tear :)
[19:30:32] <Dominus> otoh, one could give the new forge a chance. My experience so far is only the user side from the dosbox project
[19:57:13] <Dominus> tried to take a look at porting the xbr scaler from Exult but that did my head in...
[19:58:00] <Dominus> I want to do it but need more concentration for that to figure things out. It's not as easy as porting a single scale factor scaler from here to there....
[19:59:30] <Dominus> wjp, also these two warnings pop up:
[19:59:32] <Dominus> usecode/UCMachine.cpp: In member function ‘void UCMachine::execProcess(UCProcess*)’:
[19:59:32] <Dominus> usecode/UCMachine.cpp:1386: warning: unused variable ‘unknown’
[19:59:32] <Dominus> filesys/zip/zip.cpp:194: warning: ‘void PentZip::free_linkedlist(PentZip::linkedlist_data*)’ defined but not used
[19:59:32] <Dominus> graphics/PNGWriter.cpp: In member function ‘bool PNGWriter::init(uint32, uint32, const std::string&)’:
[19:59:33] <Dominus> graphics/PNGWriter.cpp:90: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to ‘char*’
[20:01:03] <wjp> just ignore those
[20:01:12] <Dominus> done :)
[21:40:50] <Dominus> re: scalers... I really wish someone would do a scaler lib to bundle all scalers in one library that you can drop in your code
[21:41:34] <Dominus> would make it perfect for adding scalers and would cut compiling times for all kind of projects as the scalers are precompiled in the lib....
[21:42:16] <Dominus> perfect for a lot of SDL projects, exult, pentagram, nuvie, xu4, and especially ScummVM and DOSBox...
[21:42:30] <Dominus> yeah, right... :)
[21:42:57] * Dominus looks at Colourless as he would be perfect for something like this :)
[21:43:04] * Dominus hides again
[21:43:25] * Dominus should stop late night wishes
