[08:02:18] --> Darke has joined #pentagram
[08:19:15] <-- Darke has left IRC (Read error: 104 (Connection reset by peer))
[08:19:59] <wjp> strange
[08:23:19] <Colourless> going to put in a undeletion request
[08:29:09] <servus> I don't see a Talk for the deletion, only who did it ( Shimgray )
[08:29:44] <Colourless> yes same here
[08:29:52] <Colourless> i can't find a reason why it was deleted
[08:30:30] <Colourless> says proposed deletion after 5 days... but I can't find any mention of pentagram on the proposed deletion log withing 10 days of 30th dec 2006

[09:28:10] <Colourless> well i put in a request. will probably be back up soon enough
[09:28:55] <Colourless> i guessing someone tagged the page on christmas day for deletion cause they didnt like our name!
[09:29:09] <Colourless> well looks like that

[09:53:58] <-- Darke has left IRC (Read error: 104 (Connection reset by peer))
[09:54:21] * wjp thinks Darke might just be having some connection issues :-)
[10:09:54] --> Darke has joined #pentagram
[10:18:51] <Colourless> i think his peers really dont like him
[10:28:23] <wjp> :-)
[10:33:47] <Darke> Bleah. It's interfearance from crosstalk from running a 10/100 network across the cat2 ex-phone lines, that we're also running a 'net connection down (4 wire pairs, 2 for ethernet, 1 for ADSL, 1 unused). I'm smiting my flatmate to get him to fix the 'unique' network setup we have since it's been really annoying me the last couple of weeks. *grin*
[10:34:28] <wjp> hm, creative :-)
[10:36:02] <Darke> We run a cost-covering wireless internet business in the apartment complex. Only services around 15 or so apartments, but it gives us 'free' internet I guess. Just a lot of headaches. Nice enough to toss on a resume though. However, it does result in particularly... odd network setups as we've got some stuff in the data/PABX closet downstairs, and some in the apartment. Thus the ethernet-over-phonelines... 'uniqueness'.
[10:51:51] <Colourless> hehe

[22:47:49] --> SB-X has joined #pentagram
[22:48:14] --> Colourless has joined #Pentagram
[22:48:14] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Colourless
[22:53:05] <Colourless> pfft... we need to save the pentagram wikipedia page! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Pentagram_%28game_engine%29
[22:55:16] <Colourless> then again.. is it needed?
[22:57:43] <wjp> looking at the rationale and the actual page, they do have a point
[22:58:38] <Colourless> yes i know
[22:59:03] <Colourless> though the GemRB page is in a far worse state that the pentagram one...
[22:59:51] <wjp> true
[23:00:19] <Colourless> point by point:
[23:00:30] <Colourless> vaporware: not true, the program can be download played
[23:00:44] <Colourless> unreleased fangame: see above point
[23:00:50] <Colourless> no assertion of notability: possible
[23:00:54] <watt> possible advertisement? blah. The old article said we were unoptimized code
[23:00:56] <Colourless> no 3rd-party citations: hmm
[23:01:06] <Colourless> possible advertisement: we didn't make it ourselves
[23:02:07] <watt> I'd concede points 2, 3, and 4
[23:04:13] --> Kirben has joined #pentagram
[23:04:13] --- ChanServ gives channel operator status to Kirben
[23:04:32] <Colourless> the notability aspect of it is hard to define...
[23:04:40] <Colourless> per wikipedia definitions it's probably not
[23:04:49] <Colourless> we're not exactly a well known project
[23:05:36] <watt> I'd reckon as well known as exult - due to the links & original discussion
[23:07:31] <Colourless> perhaps, but best of my knowledge no one other than ourselves have written anything about it, except for that wikipedia page
[23:08:40] <Colourless> i guess this guideline covers the page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_%28web%29
[23:11:48] <Colourless> probably let it go and just update the other pages that point to it to go directly to the pentagram website
[23:12:04] <Colourless> if someone else wants to remake the entry, then nothing to do with us
[23:13:22] <watt> well.. there's still the ulitmadot interview
[23:14:26] <Colourless> hmm had forgotten bout that
[23:14:29] <watt> but i think that might be about it
[23:18:33] <watt> I think this would be a pretty cool news entry on the page though.
[23:27:17] * watt wonders if EA would ever consider releasing exult + u7 on Xbox live if someone got it to work.
[23:28:26] <Colourless> gpl, they wouldn't touch it
[23:29:16] <watt> sigh.... that's a shame - seems like the perfect platform for stuff like this
[23:29:23] <Colourless> probably would also be an xbox license violoation too to have open source on the system... can't release sources to an xbox executable
[23:30:06] <watt> really? That's an interesting point
[23:30:46] <Colourless> best to my knowledge that is true
[23:32:00] <Colourless> think it's case of can't let any have the sources to an xbox program, unless they are a licensed xbox dev (otherwise wouldnt' be able to license engines)
