[08:31:35] <servus> I like WxWidgets.
[09:29:40] <Darke> I never got into them, last time I tried to use them they had all the hair-tearing agony of the MFCs, so I ended up learning Qt instead. Though this was, like, years ago.
[09:33:37] <servus> WxWidgets is nice. I'm going to use it on a work project soon, and I've had a fair amount of experience with it, with QT, with GTK+.
[09:35:28] <Colourless> i thought WxWidgets was almost identical to MFC... and MFC is just an abstraction of Win32
[09:43:06] <servus> Oh, no, not at all.
[09:43:58] <servus> MFC requires a form designer, isn't C++ (it's its own language!), and the form design is drag-and-drop (absolute positioning), where WxWidgets is more flow-based like HTML. WxWidgets has a lot cleaner event handling for widgets, too, and is a lot more versatile.
[09:48:47] <servus> Not to mention that WxWidgets compiles on any supported platform to use the native widgets available... and MFC is, well, Windows-specific *grin*
