[23:02:31] --- ChanServ gives voice to Marzo
[23:06:39] <wizardrydragon> Why hello there
[23:06:51] <Marzo> Hi
[23:06:56] <wizardrydragon> How goes?
[23:07:03] <Marzo> Well
[23:07:05] <Marzo> You?
[23:08:18] <wizardrydragon> Harried from work, but not unwell
[23:12:18] <wizardrydragon> I really haven't had much time to work on the server and fix it's issues I'm afraid, with the time I've had it's been that or work on TFL, and since I don't want to have work on TFL go and stall on me again, I opted for that.
[23:12:37] <Marzo> Understood
[23:13:03] <Marzo> FYI: I have made some changes to allow --buildmap to work with multimap games/mods
[23:13:51] <Marzo> And a set of bash scripts to make a composite map from all the pcx files that Exult spits out
[23:14:14] <Marzo> I haven't committed the changes yet, but I will be using that to make the TFL cloth map
[23:14:15] <wizardrydragon> You know
[23:14:22] <wizardrydragon> Maybe it's just the geek in me
[23:14:30] <wizardrydragon> But I wanted to use that, when the map is finished.
[23:14:36] <wizardrydragon> Make a big map with that
[23:14:45] <wizardrydragon> And make a poster to stick on my wall
[23:14:47] <wizardrydragon> :P
[23:15:10] <Marzo> The scripts are certainly capable of that
[23:15:41] <Marzo> Takes a few hours in a Turion X2 1.9GHz with 4 GB RAM running Ubuntu x64
[23:15:52] <wizardrydragon> Hehe
[23:16:02] <Marzo> (I already tried, you see :-p)
[23:16:49] <wizardrydragon> I'd feel worse for whoever'd have to print that if I did get it in a big poster form. I can just imagine Photoshop chugging along to load something that big so that you could put it in Pantone colours.
[23:17:29] <Marzo> Since --buildmap allows you to spit out the map with roofs and all -- or without any roofs and just the ground level objects
[23:17:44] <Marzo> An amazing amiount of details, all in all
[23:17:50] <wizardrydragon> Indeed
[23:17:51] <Marzo> s/amiount/amount
[23:17:57] <wizardrydragon> Ive done it before, but only on Britannia
[23:18:06] <wizardrydragon> Of course
[23:18:11] <wizardrydragon> that was with my old laptop then
[23:18:18] <wizardrydragon> so it was basically an overnight affair
[23:18:31] <Marzo> There is a website that has Britannia and SI out there
[23:18:49] <wizardrydragon> Aye
[23:19:02] <wizardrydragon> Its not hard to do, you just run it with the params :P
[23:19:06] <wizardrydragon> Its just time consuming
[23:19:10] <Marzo> Here: http://ian-albert.com/misc/gamemaps.php
[23:19:21] <Marzo> I mean the composite maps for Britannia and SI
[23:19:34] <Marzo> (although the roofless versions)
[23:19:41] <wizardrydragon> Only 81 mb
[23:19:43] <wizardrydragon> XP
[23:19:44] <wizardrydragon> hehe
[23:20:08] <Marzo> Aye
[23:20:28] <Marzo> SI is larger, even if you have a png of it
[23:20:42] <Marzo> (it comes out as about 92MB IIRC)
[23:20:43] <wizardrydragon> Itll be neat though, to do that when I have the TFL map done. And see just how much work went into that map
[23:20:49] <wizardrydragon> 95 actually
[23:20:51] <wizardrydragon> at least
[23:20:54] <wizardrydragon> my version is
[23:21:56] <Marzo> In any case, we will have a very cool-looking base for the cloth map with this
[23:22:51] <Marzo> I think I will even ship a custom minimaps.vga for TFL, instead of the one generated by Exult
[23:23:33] <Marzo> (for example, the forest areas come out as green, and lava fields in SI come out as red))
[23:23:38] <Marzo> s/))/)
[23:23:52] <Marzo> Only the mountains need work, though
[23:36:38] --- Marzo is now known as Marzo_away
[23:37:20] <wizardrydragon> Would certainly be neat
