[02:15:08] <draggy> only a short question: can i play with uwadv the game or ist it more like a tech preview ?
[02:15:20] <draggy> (i have the game data)
[02:15:58] <draggy> and another one: can i import old savegames from an original uw(1) ?
[02:20:24] <-- Dark-Star|away has left #uwadv ()

[19:15:04] <vividos> hi there
[19:15:06] <wjp> hi
[19:15:26] <yot> what news corwin?
[19:16:20] <vividos> uwadv works on my old old voodoo banshee :)
[19:16:57] <wjp> nice :-)
[19:18:15] <vividos> it runs at nice 10 fps in the first hallway
[19:21:02] <vividos> hmm, archiver@db.geocrawler.com was taken out of uwadv-devel member list; I guess the geocrawler archiver no longer works for uwadv
[19:23:33] <wjp> same happened for pentagram-devel
[19:30:33] <vividos> well, the sourceforge-own archiver still seems to work; my today's post is in the list archive
[19:38:13] <vividos> bbl
[20:03:52] <Dark-Star> hmmm... here goes another compile problem (MinGW): source/tools/../cutscene.o(.text+0x1b1):cutscene.cpp: undefined reference to `ua_image_quad::init(ua_texture_manager*, unsigned, unsigned, unsigned, unsigned, bool)'
[20:04:24] <Dark-Star> any ideas?
[20:05:27] <wjp> this is in the tools, I guess?
[20:05:45] <wjp> they're sometimes out-of-sync with the 'main' code
[20:05:49] <Dark-Star> wait, let me check.. I just did "make -f Makefile.mingw"
[20:06:01] <Dark-Star> yep, it's with "animview"
[20:06:19] <vividos> just do a make uwadv, update or install, as wjp said the animview doesn't currently work
[20:06:43] <Dark-Star> vividos: ok, sorry, should've checked the logs . . .
[20:06:45] <Dark-Star> thanks
[20:07:23] <wjp> vividos: how's your thesis coming along?
[20:33:58] <Dark-Star> ?logs
[20:33:58] <exultbot> Logs are available at http://www.math.leidenuniv.nl/~wpalenst/uwadvlog.php
[20:40:47] <vividos> back
[20:43:04] <vividos> wjp: there are still some things to do (and the code I have to adjust is rather nasty), but I hope to finish it on 2 Jan
[20:44:29] * wjp nods; that's good :-)
[20:44:41] * wjp is planning to start on his master's thesis by then
[20:48:24] <vividos> already picked a subject/theme?
[20:49:30] <wjp> it'll most likely be on radical field extensions (algebraic number theory)
[21:37:10] <vividos> probably too high for me :)
[21:38:21] <vividos> but you certainly can astonish non-math people with just saying the subject
[21:41:14] <wjp> heh :-)
[21:41:27] <wjp> bbl
[21:41:42] <vividos> what I wanted to ask: can I access the log html files in any way?
[21:42:11] <vividos> bbl, too (just answer in the channel or so)
[21:59:19] <QQtis> hey guys
[21:59:21] <QQtis> whatsup
[21:59:44] <QQtis> wow there are many of us here
[22:16:00] <-- yot has left IRC ()
[22:18:52] * Dark-Star has to go...
[22:18:53] <Dark-Star> bye
[22:19:23] <-- Dark-Star has left #uwadv ()
[22:31:13] <wjp> vividos: http://www.math.leidenuniv.nl/~wpalenst/uwadvlogs
[22:33:16] <vividos> could you please zip them up in a tar.gz or something? I want to do a searchable compiled help file
[23:09:22] <wjp> http://www.math.leidenuniv.nl/~wpalenst/uwadvlogs.zip
[23:09:34] <vividos> thanks!
[23:09:36] <wjp> (500Kb)
[23:09:44] <wjp> sure, np
[23:11:17] <vividos> I'm already writing a small processor that adds html title tags and collects filenames for the chm :)
[23:12:40] <vividos> how is chm (compiled help file) support on linux?
[23:12:53] <wjp> never heard of chm
[23:14:16] <vividos> win98 help is built using compiled help files
[23:15:53] <vividos> it's basically a compressed set of html files and images, together with a contents list and the ability to search through the html files
[23:16:34] <wjp> I see
[23:16:40] <wjp> is it an open format?
[23:17:50] <vividos> microsoft :)
[23:18:05] <wjp> I was afraid of that :-)
[23:20:16] <vividos> the good thing is that it automatically creates the full-text search index
[23:20:53] <vividos> want to see a screenshot?
[23:20:58] <wjp> sure
[23:22:45] <vividos> http://www.asamnet.de/~finkm/uwadv/uwadv_logs_chm.jpg
[23:23:12] <vividos> jpeg artifacts suck :)
[23:23:31] <wjp> :-)
[23:23:43] <vividos> but I think you get the point why I'm using that
[23:26:02] <vividos> ok, have to go again
[23:28:13] <vividos> bye
[23:28:14] <-- vividos has left IRC ("Leaving")
