[00:00:15] <vividos> uwadv? try to get latest cvs
[00:00:54] <vividos> you of course can get a suitable version of debug.cpp from cvs
[00:01:53] <Servus> i got it working
[00:02:08] <Servus> nearly, just compilign zlib.lib and sdl mixer.lib
[00:02:34] <Servus> i dont see an option to download an entire cvs snapshot tho
[00:02:37] <Servus> shrugs
[00:03:15] <vividos> you can get the cvs contents with tortoisecvs or wincvs
[00:15:18] <Servus> hmm... got zlib to make a dll, but where the heck is my .lib:)
[00:16:05] <vividos> :)
[00:17:06] <Servus> hate compiling linux stuff that doesnt even have any win32 projects or makefiles..
[00:27:28] <Servus> argh it wont make the .lib tho its set up for it X-(
[00:29:38] <vividos> I could send you the needed .lib files
[00:29:40] <vividos> for msvc?
[00:30:23] <Servus> zlib.lib
[00:30:45] <Servus> i made the project, and got it to gimme zlib.dll... and set the linker up to give me a .lib too, but it wont :|
[00:31:33] <Servus> got a precompiled lib
[00:32:15] <vividos> isn't there a tool called implib to extract the .lib out of the .dll?
[00:33:06] <Servus> i set the linker option /implib:"zlib.lib" and its s'posed to gimme zlib.lib
[00:33:58] <Servus> ok it compiles, now i have 30 linking errors, hah, great... dont worry tho ill get it, im just not great at compiling other peoples' code:)
[00:34:23] <vividos> what symbols are missing?
[00:34:34] <Servus> but they're all linking errors due to zlib... mostly ones called in savegame
[00:34:49] <Servus> _gz*
[00:35:17] <vividos> I think the symbols got exported the wrong way in your dll (or not at all)
[00:35:42] <Servus> down to one linker error:)
[00:36:03] <Servus> i dont think VC++ even looks at the dll when compiling, just the lib
[00:36:59] <vividos> which symbol still missing?
[00:38:24] <Servus> it thinks im on an Alpha CPU ;)
[00:40:11] <Servus> ok got implib32 and made my own lib from my own dll
[01:03:57] * Servus sighs
[01:05:24] <vividos> doesn't work?
[01:06:49] <Servus> same problem... created a zlib.dll and zlib.lib frmo scratch and it has all those unresolved symbols.. _gzgetc, _gzread, _gzwrite, etc, etc... youre using zlib as in www.zlib.org right?
[01:08:37] <vividos> yes; don't know if they have msvc project files, though
[01:09:09] <Servus> they didnt, i made my own and got a .dll and .lib with minimal warnings and no errors...
[01:09:19] <Servus> so it should work!
[01:09:21] <vividos> I built a static library
[01:10:00] <vividos> http://www.asamnet.de/~finkm/uwadv/zlib.lib
[01:10:18] <vividos> (upload done)
[01:15:21] <Servus> finally!
[01:39:45] <vividos> gtg. night!
[01:40:55] <Servus> night
