[18:41:09] <wjp> I'm doing pathfinding/avatar movement currently on pentagram
[18:41:41] <vividos> interesting. I guess you'd port the pathfinding from exult?

[18:42:18] <vividos> a fresh start with a fresh algorithm?
[18:42:20] <wjp> it's very different
[18:42:39] <wjp> basic algorithm is the same, but it is a bit harder since the world isn't really tiled
[18:42:58] <vividos> A* I guess?
[18:43:03] <wjp> yeah
[18:43:22] <wjp> on top of that U8 movement is done by running fixed animations, which move the NPC a fixed amount in a direction
[18:43:50] <wjp> so you don't have total freedom of movement (which makes the pathfinding algo easier, in a way)
[18:43:56] <vividos> otherwise walking would look funny, I guess
[18:44:55] <vividos> good that uw1 has a tiled map :)
[18:46:24] <vividos> and good to hear that pentagram is still being worked on
[18:46:55] <wjp> exult just released 1.1beta1
