[03:30:06] <-- Morde has left IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer)
[08:40:57] --> NorwegianRockCat has joined #xu4
[08:45:16] <NorwegianRockCat> Darrenor64: Thanks for posting to ultimaaiera.
[08:45:28] <NorwegianRockCat> I'm getting a lot of extra users.
[08:45:48] <NorwegianRockCat> At some point, I'll have to close down the request, but we're still a bit of a ways away.
[08:45:51] <NorwegianRockCat> :-)
[13:59:14] --> Maggie has joined #xu4
[14:07:25] <NorwegianRockCat> Hello Maggie.
[14:07:33] <Maggie> Hello!
[14:07:46] <NorwegianRockCat> Welcome!
[14:07:54] <Maggie> :) Hows it going?
[14:07:58] <NorwegianRockCat> Fine.
[14:08:02] <Maggie> Good!
[14:08:10] <NorwegianRockCat> The IRC channel is a bit slow at times...
[14:08:20] <NorwegianRockCat> But new people are welcome...
[14:08:25] <NorwegianRockCat> as far as I know.
[14:08:31] <NorwegianRockCat> being a newbie around here myself.
[14:08:37] <Maggie> I would hope, haha. I will most likely just idle in here for the most part.
[14:08:49] <Maggie> Anything even slightly Ultima related, is good in my books.
[14:08:55] <NorwegianRockCat> Heh.
[14:09:11] <NorwegianRockCat> Well, idling here for some chat about ultima is fine.
[14:09:27] <NorwegianRockCat> Were you one of the people testing the iPad version?
[14:09:32] <NorwegianRockCat> err Are you...
[14:09:51] <Maggie> No, I don't have something expensive like that. I have an old used 2g iPod Touch. But I doubt that fits what they need.
[14:10:03] <NorwegianRockCat> Not for the moment...
[14:10:10] <Maggie> I saw the reference to the IRC channel on UltimaAiera and thought, hey - I idle on freenode and might as well idle in here!
[14:10:21] <NorwegianRockCat> though there are plans to get it running on "smaller" iOS devices.
[14:10:24] <NorwegianRockCat> Yup.
[14:10:39] <Maggie> It would be nice. Though I've already got iDos/DOSPad and can run the game through there if I really wanted to.
[14:11:11] <NorwegianRockCat> True, but I guess I wanted to get it to work for real, without jailbreaking...
[14:11:35] <Maggie> Well, the iDos app was on the App store for a bit.
[14:11:41] <NorwegianRockCat> and I liked the challenge of seeing how it would be to port to the iOS.
[14:11:43] <NorwegianRockCat> Oh, I'm sure.
[14:11:55] <NorwegianRockCat> There's nothing wrong with DosBox.
[14:11:59] <NorwegianRockCat> I use it myself.
[14:12:10] <Maggie> It really isn't made for a mobile system though, I know.
[14:12:11] <NorwegianRockCat> It's just the silly rules that make it "not possible."
[14:12:34] <NorwegianRockCat> Yeah, it really wants a keyboard and mouse.
[14:13:08] <Maggie> It is emulating DOS, so. Yes.
[14:13:19] <NorwegianRockCat> heh.
[14:14:01] <NorwegianRockCat> Anyway, it seems we are a bit split over the world, so what happens is that the channel ends up being a bit of a "mail drop" for communicating.
[14:14:17] <NorwegianRockCat> But every once and a while, there's people around, so actually conversations do take place.
[14:14:30] <NorwegianRockCat> Just thought we shouldn't scare away the newcomers :-)
[14:14:39] <Maggie> Welcome to 90% of app development channels, ha.
[14:14:46] <NorwegianRockCat> heh.
[14:14:58] <NorwegianRockCat> Well, I used to be on the Qt channel and that was pretty busy...
[14:15:05] <NorwegianRockCat> but perhaps that was an apperation.
[14:15:16] <NorwegianRockCat> After all, we were encouraged to be on it when I was there.
[14:15:43] <Maggie> Hehe.
[14:16:05] <NorwegianRockCat> Anyway, speaking of developing, I gotta try out some sort of UI messing around to make the game a bit better on iOS.
[14:16:14] <NorwegianRockCat> Talk to you later.
[14:16:26] <Maggie> Toodles.
