[10:20:29] <Dominus> yes, Kirben does the Windows snapshot since forever and I'm doing the OS X one

[10:21:02] <Azdin> I just played thru it using the graphics upgrade

[10:23:21] <Azdin> Honestly, very good. Only issue I had was getting the graphcis upgrade to work.

[10:24:13] <Azdin> I figured out that you had to place the ultima4 and u4upgrad zip files in the xu4 directory and not extract either of them
[10:24:25] <Azdin> I had originally extracted the ultima4 game into the ultima4 folder
[10:24:58] <Azdin> This only crashed the client when I had u4upgrad.zip in the folder.
[10:25:23] <Dominus> the readme states where to put them, I think
[10:26:22] <Azdin> It didn't. Just said to put ultima4 in it's own folder in the xu4 dir. But it didn't matter. I figured it out. ;)
[10:26:59] <Dominus> from the readme:Download UltimaIV.zip and (optionally) u4upgrad.zip, and place them in
[10:26:59] <Dominus> the same directory as the u4 executable
[10:27:02] <Azdin> The only other issue I ran into was when i reorganized the party. For some reason the names changed, but in battle the character images were switched around, like the names had changed, but their images had not.
[10:27:44] <Dominus> xu4 will read the Ultima IV
[10:27:44] <Dominus> data files straight out of the zipfile.
[10:30:14] <Azdin> "xu4 searches for the zipfiles, or the unpacked contents of the zipfiles in the following places" I guess I just moved the ultima4 dir over and didn't think keeping it in a zip would make a diff. :\
[10:30:48] <Azdin> The issue only happens with the u4upgrad.zip file. But it's minor, like i said, easy fix.
[10:31:27] <Azdin> The party thing was also fixed by restarting the client.
[10:32:01] <Azdin> Anyway, those bugs weren't an issue for me. I enjoyed the playthru. xu4 is quite awesome and well made. :)

[10:51:47] <Dominus> you need to decide what game you want to go for, search the net whether it was done before or whether someone already figured out data files

[11:01:05] <Azdin> Lemme ask you this: with xu4, did you have to rebuild the entire game engine from scratch and just use the game's data, or did you modify the existing engine completely?
